Hello Krew:

I had a great time in IL and MI last weekend. I got caught in the middle of the snow storm that hit the midwest but it was still a great weekend. Thursday night I sang in Casey IL at Richards Farm Restaurant. It took a while to get there with all the snow but the restaurant was packed and I appreciate all the nice people that I got to meet. I assumed that Ron Bales would have lots of cancellations because of the snow but a very small number canceled their reservations. The snow was about 6-7" deep, the roads were covered but it turned out to be a great night of Christmas Celebration.

On Friday I drove to Detroit, over the river and through the woods. . . . The roads were clear but there were lots of backups on the interstate because of all the cars and trucks being pulled out of the ditches so I decided to take another route, hoping to avoid all of that. But of course, hundreds of others took the other route too so what should have been a 6 hour drive turned out to be almost an 11 hour drive. But I made it in time to get a late dinner and get some sleep. Saturday Morning, I sang at a Christmas Banquet for Encore Productions. Hopes Call and I sang to an enthusiastic group and had a wonderful meal. I had to joke a little about the asparagus tips being a lot like green beans. All the real southerners agreed that the Green Beans were a bit crunchy!

Sunday Morning, I was again in Eaton Rapids Michigan at the Nazarene Church. Rev Dallas McFarland welcomed me again and we had a great service. Several people came to the altar at the end of the service. It was good to see lots of Krew Members, especially Geneva Speas. She's been a friend for years. I left there and drove all the way home to East Tennessee, finally getting out of the snow and the wet weather.
