Thanksgiving Week 2005

November 22, 2005

Hello Krew.
It's cloudy here in East Tennessee today. The weather man says we might get a few flurries sometime this week. I kinda hope so. I love the snow and last year we didn't have any snow so it will be welcomed here.

I had a great weekend in Kentucky. Saturday night, I sang in Eddyville at the Eddyville United Methodist. Frank Wilford had invited me there to do a concert and he also invited Allison Speer to be my special guest. Well naturally, I was excited to be able to do "Oh Lamb Of Calvary" with her. She is such a great singer, a great communicator and to be able to record with her was a great thrill, but to be able to sing live with her is an extra thrill. The crowd seemed to love the duet, so we debuted a new duet "I'd Rather Have Jesus". The crowd seemed to like it too, so it will be on the next project released. Not sure when it will be released but sometime after the first of the year. That project will also include "Judge Not". Mike Allen (from the Gaither tour) rode out to Eddyville with Brian and Allison so I couldn't help but have him sing one too. Mike is one of the kindest people I have ever met and a GREAT bass singer! The crowd really enjoyed him too. My friend Rod Horner drove up from Nashville, so I had him play a few solos. He is an amazing keyboard player. After the service was over, we all went back into the auditorium and gathered around the piano and started singing some familiar songs. We had us a little quartet going. The more we sang, the better we sounded! It was a lot of fun just singing around the piano. Rod knows every gospel song ever written so it didn't matter what we wanted to sing, he knew it!

Sunday I drove down to Murray Kentucky to the Westside Baptist Church for a concert on Sunday night. The church was full and they seemed to be ready to have church. Shea McWherter had arranged the entire evening and it was good to see him again. I have been knowing him since he was a kid in Detroit.  At the end of the service, about a dozen people came down the aisle to pray at the altar.

SPECIAL INVITATION
December 10th Southgate Michigan 11:30 am A very special Christmas Concert featuring Kirk Talley and Hope's Call I hope all my friends in Michigan and Ohio will come up for this concert. Hope's Call is a great trio who have been very kind to me and have encouraged me a lot. Actually they have caught some flack for even agreeing to appear on the same program with me, so I hope that a bunch of Krew members will come and fill up the seats that were left vacant by some of the Baptist in Michigan. This concert is a Banquet so there will be good food and good music, and it will be over in time to do some good Christmas Shopping!

For ticket info, please contact Encore Productions 1-800-800 7817
