Just wanted to update you on the NC weekend. I had a great time in
the triad. Saturday night in
Winston Salem
was pretty exciting. It was great to have a lot of Krew members
there from all over the US. I sang "Oh Lamb Of Calvary" during the
awards program and that song won DUET OF THE YEAR. I was also
shocked to be named Favorite Songwriter and Tenor. Thank you all
for sitting at your computer and voting.
Sunday morning, I sang in Welcome NC at the First Baptist Church.
I have never been in a town where they were so proud of their
towns name. All the people would come by and say "welcome" and
shake my hand. After a while it became comical. So when a nice
lady walked up and said "welcome", I replied "Knoxville". She gave
me a strange look as if I had lost my mind and kept walking. Guess
I lost that CD sale! But we had a great service. At the end of the
service, several people came to the altar to pray. Afterwards,
Raeford and Bobbie Wagner and Susan Peters took us out to the
Captain Stevens Seafood restaurant for a great lunch. During
lunch, we learned that Susan won't eat any vegetables! NONE!!!!
Have you ever heard of such a thing?????? All she eats is pasta
and meat! We coaxed her with every vegetable on our table. But to
no avail. I can't pick on her too much, because she sells my music
at her bookstore, New Life Christian Bookstore in High Point, NC.
Sunday evening, I was in
Lexington NC
at the First Assembly of God. My friends Nokie and Janice had
worked so hard to arrange this concert and the place was packed.
The crowd was very responsive and it was great seeing some Krew
members that weren't in Winston Salem. After the concert, Nokie
and Janice prepared a great spaghetti dinner complete with A
meatball. Yes.... A meatball! Nokie already has advertisement out
on next years concert, exactly one year from now, so that will
give her plenty of time to maybe do two meatballs!
THANKS GIRLS!!!!
LIFE TODAY, with James Robinson and myself, airs tomorrow, so be
sure and watch it.
