Hello Krew
If you are like me, you have sat in front of your TV, totally mesmerized at the
devastation that I have seen in the Gulf Coast. I have several pastor friends
from that area who are displaced from their congregations, one is stuck in
Memphis, the other is stuck in Dallas, they can't get back there to check on
their congregation or their church or families. Even the man that cuts my hair
has a son that's missing in one of the small towns north of New Orleans. He has
left Knoxville with a truck load of supplies in search of his son. Please pray
for them all.
After I watched the first day, I immediately knew there would be major loss and
we as Americans needed to reach out. I immediately thought of how friendly the
people of East Tennessee is. The Great Smoky Mtns are known for their friendly
hospitality and their down home spirit. I knew that we must extend that friendly
spirit across state lines down to the Gulf Coast. I called David Hoskins, from
WJBZ radio station and said "lets help these people." We met with the Pastor and
Minister of Music of Chilhowee Hills Bapt Church in Knoxville and they wanted to
help, so I have been busy putting this event together. I called the Red Cross,
they said YES, I called Mark Lowry, he said YES he would MC and sing so we are
on our way with this event. Here's the info:

I have been on the phone trying to get some FAMOUS people from Knoxville area to
show up. Dolly can't be there, she is appearing on Jay Leno that night! THE
NERVE.........?????
I really need some help with some of the advertising. We have a short time to
get the word out. I will have fliers first of next week. If you are in TN, VA,
KY, GA or AL, I need you to get that word to your local radio station. If there
are Krew members in Knoxville that can help put up fliers next week please
contact me.

Thanks again for ordering the new Live At the River project. I have gotten so
many good remarks about it. Everyone says it's the best one yet! I watched the
DVD again the other night and even liked it myself!

This weekend I will be in Shelbyville Indiana and Muncie IN. All the info is on

Last week I taped a 30 minute TV show that will be aired on CTN (Christian
Television Network) this weekend. When I arrived at the studio, I was informed
that the host wasn't going to be there so I was the host and the artist! If you
have CTN on your cable, watch the show called Southern Style Praise this
weekend. Friday, the 9th at 7:30 pm Sat, the 10th, at 5:00 pm Sunday the 11th at
2:30 pm Also locally it will be on Comcast Cable on Channel 40, Wed the 14th at
4 pm .

There are some new pics on the webpage from this past weekend. The Krew had a
great time at the Cumberland County Playhouse, seeing "Smoke On the Mountain" It
was such a hit with our group, we are already looking for dates to go see the
Sanders Family Christmas Show. Maybe we will include a Christmas party that same
weekend! More than likely it will be the Sat and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend.
Ok, I got to get back on the phone to try and get some more details worked out
for the Benefit concert! Sure hope you can be there!
