Hello Krew.
It's still hot here in Tennessee, still in the 90's
and very humid. Hopefully fall will be here soon!. I
had a great time in
Indiana and Ohio this past weekend.
I headed to Indiana on Saturday for a concert in
Richmond Indiana. I found a Skyline Chili on the way
up there and of course had to stop for my usual
inverted three way, dried, with two cheese coneys!
This was my second time at the Trinity Worship
Center and Pastor Marcum and all the folks there are
so nice. It was great to see Joyce Martin, and her
daughter Carol, grandson Justin and granddaughter
Kelly. Joyce cooked a good meal and it was a good
concert.
Sunday Morning, I was in Cincinnati, Ohio at
Montgomery Assembly of God. Pastor Rodney Dukes
invited me to be with his congregation and I had a
grand time there. Pastor Dukes is a wonderful
speaker. He reminds me of Robert Shular in his
speaking, and he is about the kindest preacher I
have met! Jeremiah Hembree, the assistant pastor,
made sure I had everything I needed and was very
hospitable! They took me to a good lunch after the
morning service. The evening service was a wonderful
time. Lots of Krew members came from all over the
area, and it was great to see Phil and Kim
Collingsworth there also. At the end of the service,
many people came forward to pray. After the service
was over, Pastor Dukes ordered in Montgomery Inn
Ribs! Oh my goodness, the best ribs I have ever had!
If you are ever in Cincinnati, you have to go to the
Montgomery Inn and get the ribs!
On Monday, I drove down to Ashland Kentucky to be a
guest on GOSPEL MUSIC SHOWCASE on the Daystar
Network. Tammy Underwood, formerly of the Perry
Sisters, is the hostess for the show and I did six
songs plus an interview. During the interview, as I
was sharing a condensed version of my testimony, a
big black fly kept buzzing around our heads. Several
times it landed on Tammy's hair while I was talking
but I just kept talking. It buzzed in front of my
face, it buzzed and landed on my knees, it was
almost like it was in an invisible box in front of
Tammy and me. Finally, I couldn't stand it any
longer. As I was talking in a very serious moment,
that fly lit on the end of my nose! Just as I
reached up to wipe it off, it flew off and I clapped
my hands and killed that sucker in mid air! ON
CAMERA!!!!! We laughed and laughed. Tammy said that
was the first time anyone had committed murder while
filming her show. After a stop and an edit, we
finally continued with the interview.
After we finished with Tammy's show, I was then
special guest of Tri State Celebration, a live,
local TV show hosted by pastor Tim Throckmorton,
from Plymouth Nazarene Church. Tim made me feel very
much at east and comfortable as I shared my
testimony. I sang "Intimacy With Jesus" and the holy
spirit fell in the studio. There were a few guests
in the studio and they along with the camera men,
producers, had tears in their eyes. It was really a
special moment as the Holy Spirit was evident in the
room.
After a good meal of Bayou Shrimp Pasta at the local
O'Charleys, (great to see John and Shirley Rowsey
and Pastor Kevin) I headed to Tennessee. I got home
late last night in time to get Pootie and get some
sleep.
