WEEKEND BLESSINGS

Hello Krew
I usually wait until about Tuesday or Wednesday to do the update from the past weekend but I wanted to fill you in on what all happened in Maryville Tenn this past Saturday night.

It was advertised as a Trio concert, but it turned into a revival! HIS OWN, a great quartet from the Maryville area opened the concert and the people loved them. Then the Trio was introduced and the crowd was very enthusiastic as we did "Glory Road" "Havin A Good Time" and many of the others we have done for the past few years. It's always a lot of fun to get together with Shane and Anthony. We never know what's going to happen. Shane has a great sense of humor, a quick wit, and Anthony has a dryer sense of humor, but equally as funny so the combination of the three of us works great. Anthony is the king of great one liners and with the three of us, there is never a dull moment.

I had scheduled some surprise guests for the night so I introduced our first surprise guest, FIRST LOVE. These kids came to the stage and wowed the crowd. They sang beautifully, their harmony is superb and they are the sweetest young people. Troy and Katy Peach are expecting twins and naturally we joked about that some. I told Troy he should name them Fuzzy and Juicy! Visit them online www.FirstLoveonline.com

Our next special guest was Kenny Bishop. I had invited him down to the concert several weeks ago. Kenny was welcomed with open arms and sang and shared from his heart and was a blessing to everyone. I wanted my friends to welcome him and encourage him and bless him as they have done me. And I know it was a lift for him to be there. Thank you Kenny for being a great friend to me! (yes he gets this newsletter)

Our next special guest was Joyce Martin. Joyce has always been one of my favorite singers, such a clear pure voice and such great communication skills. She too has been off the road for a bit and again, I wanted my friends and Krew members to encourage her and be a blessing to her. See I know the importance of people speaking GOOD THINGS into someone's life. Joyce sang "Except For Grace" and it ministered to me and to the audience. Thank God for his Grace!

I watched at intermission as people began to talk to Kenny and Joyce and First Love. I saw some friends of mine began to encourage them and say "it's so good to see you again." I saw them get hugged and squeezed and saw them selling some CD's and talking and laughing. It was such a blessing to me to see how some of the same people that has encouraged me so much, start to encourage Kenny and Joyce and First Love.

Second round, all the artists hit the stage together. Anthony's daughter Lori sang a great song, I even introduced Lou Ann, Anthony's wife, and asked her to share a word of testimony and it was wonderful! She's such a sweetheart!

Sunday Morning service at Maranatha was incredible. My pastor, Tommy Patterson was used in the most miraculous way to minister to everyone there, but especially to me, Kenny and Joyce. My pastor can be funny, entertaining, serious, anointed -all at the same time. Sunday morning was a service I will never forget!

Special thanks to Dot Shultz for making Saturday night so special for all of us!

KREW GET TOGETHER
Sat Sept 3rd I am not singing, so I decided that the Krew should get together and go to the Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville. "SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN" is playing and it's one of the funniest plays I have ever seen. It's the story of a family of Gospel singers back in the 40's, some hilarious characters, the audience is the congregation of the church, we sing along with the old songs, the actors and actresses interact with the audience, all in Character. You will laugh until you hurt! The play starts at 11 am Central time and then we will all go to the State Park and enjoy an afternoon buffet. Tickets for the play is normally $20 dollars but if we get a group big enough, we can get them for $18.00 and we can all sit together. We will meet at my church and carpool together to Crossville. I checked on a bus for everyone but that was WAY too expensive! So we will just carpool and have a great day of fun.

If you are interested in going with us, Call Dot at the office 865 933 2100 and give her your credit card info so she can reserve the tickets. We MUST have your reservation by Friday, August 26. The tickets are nonrefundable. If you want to come from out of town and stay overnight, I will be singing the next night on Sept 4th in Knoxville at Shannandale Baptist Church.
