Newsletter 05-24-05
Just a quick
reminder about this weekend. I am really looking forward to the live
recording in Smyrna, TN this coming Saturday night and Sunday morning. The
choir is ready, the technical things are falling into place, I am excited and
I hope to see you all there this weekend. The special guests are lined up,
they all know exactly what they are going to do, the musicians are learning
their songs, My new suit is pressed and ready, (special thanks to Tichnors of
Beachwood in Cleveland Ohio) My shoes are shined, Daryl Williams has assembled
the very best, so I am excited. Did I say that twice????? Sure did!
I really hope
a big bunch of Krew Members can be there decked out in Kirks Krew shirts!
There are Krew members coming from TX, KY, AL, GA, NC, MS, VA, MA, WV, AR, FL
and of course TN. I imagine as the camera rolls, it will find those Black and
White and Pink and Green shirts in the audience. If you can't make it, I hope
you will pray for the recording, especially on Saturday and Sunday.

This past
weekend I flew to Allentown, PA to sing at Bethany United Methodist Church on
Saturday night. Dave Justice invited me to come there and sing and I had a
great time. I got to see lots of folks that I haven't seen in a couple of
years. Pennsylvania has always been great to me and it was so good to be able
to hug a lot of old friends that I haven't seen in a long time. We had a
great service. Several folks responded at altar time and God really moved. I
have gotten lots of emails from people that were in the service, lots of them
were new people that I hadn't met before.
I had one heck
of a time getting to Allentown. I was supposed to leave Knoxville at 8 am and
land in Allentown at noon. But Comair Airlines had a different plan. The
first flight out of Knoxville was delayed so I missed my connection in
Cincinnati, therefore I had to wait for another flight out of Cincinnati,
finally arriving in Allentown 5 hours later than expected. I was so tired
when I arrived at Bethany, I didn't have the energy to unfold the suitcase and
change clothes so I just sang in my traveling clothes. No one seemed to
mind. The Lord sure blessed that concert in spite of everything that had
happened! Sunday morning I left Allentown at 5:30 am in time to get back to
Knoxville in time to get to church to hear my Pastor, Tommy Patterson speak.
Tommy spoke on personal prayer. It was a great inspiration to me.

In last weeks
newsletter I mentioned a Cruise next April. Response has been incredible! I
started getting people anxious to sign up and put a deposit down to reserve
their space. I think they recognized a good cruise deal when they saw it.
649.00 for an outside room (no that doesn't mean you have to sleep outside on
the deck, that means you will have a window!) and $599 for an inside room.
This price includes port taxes, and all the food you can eat during 5 days,
and the entertainment aboard ship. The Trio, Me, Anthony Burger and Shane
Dunlap, along with some other artists will be the entertainment for the people
who sign up to go with us. Let me be real clear here. There will be secular
entertainment on this ship also. This is not a christian charter, so I want
you to know that there will be bars open on the ship, there will be casino's
open on the ship, so I don't want anyone to be shocked or start complaining as
soon as the ship leaves port! I am telling you right up front so don't come
bellyaching to me about it. We have been assured that we will have our own
meeting place for our concerts and morning devotions with Dr Buck Morton.
There is already about 70 people who are signed up to go with us. We only
have 250 rooms alloted to us. So if you are intersted in going, you really
need to call the office immediately and get your deposit in and your name on
the list.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Every time I
do a newsletter, I have people email me back saying "take me off your list."
Not sure why they ever signed up in the first place if they don't want to hear
from me, but "whatever." Well, if you want to be taken off the list, here's
how to do that. Go to
www.kirktalley.com and hit the UNSUBSCRIBE button! It's real simple.
Follow the instructions. They are quite elementary, anyone can do it.
I have also
had a few questions about some of the posts on my comment section on the
webpage.
YES, the
comments are screened. I don't allow cussin or name calling on there. There
has to be at least a name or an email address with the post for it to get
posted. I DO allow differences of opinion. Lots of people have varied
opinions of what I should do, how I should act, how I should live my life. . .
. . . it's interesting to see what other people say, that's the idea behind
the comment form. Basically I want to please Jesus. Not Man, I want to be
as close to him as possible. So please know that the comment section is only
there for YOU to voice YOUR OPINION, make comments, let your voice be heard.
It doesn't necessarily mean that I agree with everything stated. Let's just
love Jesus together, and Pray for each other!
Well, I got to
get out of here and get some work done today.
PAIN members,
please Pray for:
