Hello Krew

It's chilly here in East Tennessee, I am wondering if it will ever be summer or not. We have had several days of cool damp weather and I am ready to see the sun shine! Last week I was in Canada and of course it was cool and rainy there too. But the weather didn't change the spirit of the concerts. I had a great time in Canada and look forward to going back.

I flew up to Toronto on Wednesday. Bob Attrell, once again, picked me up at the airport and I had lunch with he and Hazel. What a sweet couple. He then took me to his car dealership and helped me load my stuff in a car that he had provided for me to use the entire week. ATTRELL TOYOTA in Brampton Ontario is where you need to buy your next Toyota if you live in Canada. (no charge for the plug Bob).

I put a lot of miles on that car! Thursday night I sang in Stevensville Ontario, which is very near Niagara Falls. Dave Schaubel welcomed me to the Stevensville United Brethren Church and we had a great service. At the end of the service, several people came forward to pray. It was great seeing Kevin, Janice, and Tyler Graham. I have known these people since Cathedral Days and Kevin took me to dinner after the concert in Niagara Falls. If you have never seen Niagara Falls at night, you really have missed something spectacular. Next time, I want to ride the boat that goes down under the falls. After a great meal (Fish and Chips) I drove back up to Toronto.

Friday morning, I taped some songs for an upcoming 100 Huntley Street. The production staff was so nice and very cooperative to work with. I am not sure when that will be shown on 100 Huntley Street but be watching for it if you get that network. 100 Huntley Street is THE Christian Network all across Canada. Millions and Millions of people watch it daily from east to west.

Friday night, I crossed through Toronto again to Pickering Ontario for a concert at the Pickering Pentecostal Church. Pastor Harold Reid welcomed me and the service was great.

Saturday I headed back west, way west, to Chatham Ontario for a concert at St Paul's Congregational Church. Jim McLachlin had invited me and "Simple Song" to his church for a great concert. I was so impressed with "Simple Song". The group consists of a mom ( Deana) and her six children, all under the age of 15. Beck was the oldest of the boys and he is 15. He was the groups emcee and sang first tenor. Cam was the middle son and sang harmony, Cyrus was the youngest boy and was the clown of the group! The girls were Adalee, Madalyn, and Indiana. They all sing and play the piano. All the kids had personality plus and acted as if they had known me all their lives. I was very impressed with this entire family. Their dad ran the sound and toted the equipment!

Sunday Morning, I was back in Toronto for a wonderful Mothers Day service at Queensway Cathedral. Over 1000 people were there that morning and as we took communion, it was a real blessing to sing "Oh Lamb Of Calvary". As soon as the service ended, I rushed to a great Mothers Day Lunch with the Attrells, and then left (BEFORE DESERT for those of you worried about my eating habits) and headed way east to Kingston Ontario for a most wonderful service at Kingston Gospel Church.

Special Thanks to Peggy Sue for helping me at the table this weekend.
