Hello Krew

I just got home from a great night of fun, food and fellowship.  It was the first Kirk's Knoxville Krew event.  (won't be the last)     A couple of weeks ago, I asked that the Krew members within driving distance of Knoxville respond with "KNOXVILLE" in the subject line.  Everyone that responded got an invite to a True Blue Krew pot luck dinner at my office.  There was more food on the conference table than at a Baptist homecoming!  It was truly pot luck!  I didn't tell anyone what to bring, it was a surprise!  About 80 people filled the conference room at my office and tore into a wonderful buffet!

Naturally there was some music too. Crystal River-the most promising quartet to come along in years, entertained us with several accapella songs.  If you haven't heard them, you are missing out on the beginning of something wonderful!  They do an arrangement of "Higher Ground [I arranged it for them) that's incredible!  They are actually my next door neighbors!  Zac, the lead singer, is a pretty good Rook player!  We have won the last few times we have played!   Check out their webpage www.crystalriveronline.net and sign up for their newsletter.  Donny Singleton brought his guitar and was a Krew blessing as he sang from his heart, "All my ex's live in Texas."  Believe it or not, the audience sang along!  I am not sure it was considered worship, but it was fun.  I even previewed a couple new songs that I will be recording at the live recording May 28 and 29th in Smyrna Tenn. at River of Life Church.

There was lots of door prizes, Dot Shultz gave away tickets to the May 7th concert in Maryville, TN, featuring me and the Talley Trio.   Come be with us    dottie820@aol.com

Dusty Wells, a big dog with Word Records brought some CD's to give away.  He has been a Krew member for a long time and I really do appreciate him for his encouragement. Nora Robinson (manager of a Mcdonalds) brought some Mickey D coupons to give away.  I even gave coupons for discounts on oil changes and stuff from Auto Lube Express.

You might wonder what this meeting was all about.  Well, it wasn't about anything really, I just wanted to meet members of the Krew (people that have signed up for my email newsletter from the Knoxville area) And it was great fun!  David Hayes, my landlord at the office allowed me to use the conference room at David's Abbey Carpet and it was just the right place!

There are pictures on the webpage www.kirktalley.comLots of fun.  Check it out.

KY WEEKEND

I didn't do a recap of last weekend since I did a tribute to George Younce, so I wanted to tell you that I had two wonderful services in KY last weekend.  Sunday morning I was in Wurtland, KY and the service was so sweet.  At the end, the altars were full.  God really moved in that service.  Praise the Lord.  Sunday night, I visited First Baptist Church in Cold Spring, KY and had another great service!  Of course, I found a Skyline Chili and had my regular inverted three way, dried, with two cheese coneys.  If you don't know what that means, It's Cincinnati style chili, spaghetti, chili, cheese, built backwards and then dried.  You have to experience it to understand it!

ERIE REPEAT!!!

Since Erie PA experienced a blizzard (not the Dairy Queen kind) the weekend I was scheduled there, many people couldn't make the services. Actually I heard from several Kirk's Krew members that got stranded in the snow storm and sat on the interstate for hours.  GOOD NEWS,   I am coming back to Erie on July 17th for an am and pm service. If it snows then,  I will start traveling in a bull dozer anytime I am north of the Mason Dixon line!

Tomorrow I will be in Jackson, AL for a Sunday Morning service.  If you are in the lower part of AL,  check the info out on my schedule www.kirktalley.com and come be with me.

I am looking forward to being in Gadsden AL on the 21st at the Choice Cafeteria again.  Come eat with me and hear some good singin!   Contact Gpat1@aol.com for tickets and info.

Also, don't forget the LIVE RECORDING on Memorial Day Weekend in Smyrna, TN.  (info on webpage) I was down there Wednesday night of this week rehearsing with the choir, and I am sooooooooooo excited!  The choir is great and they really make the songs come alive!  I can't wait!

All the KREW buttons went out yesterday so for the ones that ordered, you should have them in a few days!  WEAR THEM TO EVERY CONCERT YOU GO TO!  Response was so good, I have to reorder already!  THANK YOU.

Well, it's almost 2 am and I have to get a few hours of sleep!  Thank you all so much for reading all this!  Someday I will try to do a short update!  At least no one that I know wrecked this week!

God Bless You All

Kapt Kirk
