Hello Krew
Just a short update this week as to
where I've been and where I have
sung. The 19th of March I was in
Orlando at a conference Worship
Service. This conference was not so
much a "gospel event", but it truly
was a great experience. The company
does motivational conferences and
they bring in Christian people who
have been very successful in
business.
They speak for a couple of hours
about how they built their business
using Godly principles. I heard two
great speakers on Saturday and then
I sang for the Worship Service on
Sunday morning. All of the people in
the morning worship service were
business people,
adults who want to improve their
business, who came to Orlando to
learn more.
Sunday Morning I sang for about 30
minutes and then shared my
testimony. The Holy Spirit visited
us that morning in a great way. Down
near the end of the service, Tim
Darnell, the man in charge of the
conference, came to the front to
extend the invitation. Five people
came forward that morning to trust
Christ. Five business people, Five
people who came to the conference to
find how to improve or build their
business, 5 grown adults decided to
follow
Christ that Sunday morning. It was a
great great service.
You never know how God leads or
guides. I am amazed at the route in
which I became aware of the
Advantage Conference. I was
introduced to Bill Conwell in
Charlotte NC by some friends from
West Virginia. The morning that I
met Bill, in the middle of my
testimony, he got up and left. I
assumed either he had another place
to be or he didn't like the
testimony. A few days later I got an
email from him, explaining that he
had to go pick up his wife and
family. He introduced me to the
Conference web site and then told me
he would be in touch. He then told
the leader of the Conference about
my testimony, requested a DVD
for him to watch, and the rest is
History. Just another way that God
has mysteriously led in my life. . .
.
Another strange but good occurrence
that weekend. . . . at a Boston
Market restaurant in Orlando, I was
deciding between chicken and
meatloaf. I heard a voice behind me
in the line, as I turned around, I
saw a guy that sold me a pager years
and years ago in
Knoxville. He said "Kirk Talley". I
knew I recognized him and all of a
sudden his name just came
to me out of the blue. I know it had
been 10 years since I had seen him
and I couldn't believe I thought of
his name! He now lives in FL so we
sat and talked
a while before I had to leave.

Maryville TN was a great night
of music. Each artist really did a
great job. First Love was sounding
great. Katy Peach is one of the best
female singers around. She actually
sang some of the back up vocals on
my LIVE AT THE RIVER project. She is
now the proud mother of twins!
Clayton and Shelton are 5 weeks old
and of course when they came out on
the stage, they stole the hearts of
every one there. Oh yeah...Troy and
JP was there too. Actually I had
lunch with First Love that day and I
must say that JP and Troy are
hilarious!
Phil Cross and Poet Voices sounded
so good on Saturday night. Phil is
an amazing songwriter and they sang
all his hits plus some new ones. One
of the new
songs is "Tears In A Bottle" that
Phil wrote especially for me about 2
years ago. It was one of
the favorites of the evening.
Allison Speer did a great job on her
portion of the program! She is an
excellent communicator and an
incredible soprano. Of course we did
the duets, "I'd Rather Have Jesus"
and "Oh Lamb Of Calvary".
Rarely am I at a loss of words. But
while I was singing, the other
artists decided to play a few
tricks on me. While I sang "Peace In
The Valley", their plan started.
First, Greg Crowe came out on the
stage pushing an upright Vacuum
Cleaner as if he was cleaning. Next
came Allison Speer with a necktie,
trying to tie it around my neck,
Then J.P. Miller did a somersault
across the stage and then Allison
came back to get the Vacuum Cleaner.
Of course the audience loved it each
time the others "got me". The only
thing I could think to say was when
Allison came to take the Vacuum back
off stage. I said "Good! That's a
Woman's job anyway". (ok ladies,
don't throw things!)
