Hello Krew,

I thought I'd take a minute to say hello. I got home late last night from Indiana. I had a great time in Shelbyville, Indiana at Hopes Point Church. Pastor Ed Mohr made me feel so at home and welcomed me into his church. The two Sunday Morning Services were great....The Holy Spirit really moved in the second service, lots of people coming to the altar to pray at the end. What a blessing it was to be in that service. So many times, the singers or speakers are expected to give and give and be a blessing and be great, but yesterday, I was ministered to as God began to move in the auditorium. It was great to see people spontaneously move as the spirit led them.

It was great to see some old friends. Ann Kline from northern Indiana was there, Jean Adams from Evansville came up for the weekend, Dennis and Cherie Wagner came down from Lagrange, IN, and Joyce Martin came over Ohio. I enjoyed fellowship with all of them and headed home after the service on Sunday morning. Of course I had to stop at Skyline Chili in Cincinnati, to get my last fix of fresh Skyline.....an inverted three way, dried, with two cheese coneys, smothered in chili and mustard and onion! Heartburn City! COME ON PREVACID, do your thing!

I wanted to share with you a devotion from the YEAR IN THE NOW book that I read. Yesterdays devotion was great.

Today, I will live in the now. I will live in the now because the Holy Spirit is my trusted friend and valued confidant...the one who helps me and empowers me to be a witness to my generation. He is the spirit of Truth, who will lead me into all truth and reality today, delivering me from all deception, freeing me from every falsehood and liberating me from any lies that I have believed.

Today I will take comfort in his help. Because I know that I am not alone in my fiery trial, I will not be overwhelmed by the enormity of my problems. He is with me every step of the way, protecting, leading, guiding, counseling, instructing, encouraging, edifying, enabling- and his presence is my sanctuary and strong tower of refuge.

Today I will be filled with the Holy Spirit, overflowing with His grace and joy as I sing and make melody in my heart to the Lord. This grace will be an oasis in the desert for me today, regardless of my circumstances.

Today I will be empowered by the dynamic work of the Helper Who indwells me, "Strengthen with might by his Spirit in the inner man" ( Ephesians 3: 16) so that no matter what huge task is required of me, I know that I can rise to the occasion with his help. I can overcome any obstacle and deal with any challenge.

Today I will not feel alone, because Jesus promised that the Helper would abide with me forever. Because of his promise, I do not have to contend with the fear of rejection or deal with abandonment issues, but I can confidently walk in the assurance that I am accepted in the Beloved. Today I will enjoy all the benefits of the spirit-life; the fruit of the Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit, the power of the Spirit, and the comfort of the Spirit. Today I will celebrate my own, personal day of Pentecost, and today I will live in the now.



This devotional really inspired me yesterday as I read it. I am so thankful for the YEAR IN THE NOW devotional book. Bishop Jim Swilley, must have known what I needed each day, when he wrote this book years ago. Just a few days ago, he sent me a note, thanking me for using the book and promoting the book to my friends. With the note came a copy of the new printing of the book. I was surprised to see a thank you to me in the book..... He is a great writer and he has definitely inspired me. So many friends of mine now have the book, A YEAR IN THE NOW, and I have heard lots of testimonies of how the book speaks to them daily also. Well, it's pollen season here in East Tennessee, everything is yellow. My car is red, but this morning....its yellow! Sure doesn't help with the allergies and my sinus stuff! I go back to the Doctor this week for one more "suction" treatment, then hopefully I am done for a while. Thanks for your prayers during this time. And thanks for praying for my parents. Mom's about the same, Dad is coping well.....Please continue to pray for my schedule to pick up.....and continue to pray for the sale of a vacant commercial lot. I'd love to be free of that commitment.
