Just saw where you were in Marshall, TX back in June. If you looked in the telephone directory (I'm sure you didn't have time), you would find a few SCHNORBUS names still listed. I was there the end of August, because I went on to Greenville and then to Terrell, TX, and heard The Talley Trio. Wonderful trip, honestly. I hope you enjoyed seeing a SMALL town. I'm sure you gave more to the citizens of Marshall than they gave you. You're still my FAVORITE TENOR!! Hope you make it back to Marshall again in 2008. I'll be there, if you do/are/whatever. :)

Hey Everyone,
I'm looking for a small bit of help, and I know someone out there will have the answer to my question! I'm looking for a few lyrics to "Fruitcake". I have the cd in a carousel that holds 400 cds, and I can't seem to find the jewel case for "Talley-Ho-Ho-Ho". We're wanting to use "Fruitcake" in our church's Dinner Theater production this year, and we can't quite figure out a few words. So, here we go! The second line to the second verse follows, "I could give a bite as punishment to the dog who la la la." Can anyone help us out on that? I can't find the lyrics posted anywhere!! Thanks so much and may God bless each ofyou!!

I was happy to see that Dale was interested in finding the recording of "Evergreen". I love that song the melody is beautiful and the words also.
It was included on the cassette"Out Front"
one of the earlier cassettes made by Kirk. I think it was the same as the one
that was on an old Cathedral recording.
Maybe thru Kirk I could get a copy of it
to you. He would first have to ok my making a copy of his music.

Hello Kirk!
Just wanted you to know that I have just discovered your music. I was doing some research on a song that was chosen by the Seniors of the Ocean Springs Christian School back in 1981. It turned out the song EVERGREEN which you wrote was sung by the graduating seniors. The seniors chose it as there class song and sang it at the graduation ceremony. When I discovered that you were the author I began looking at the rest of you music. Having been brought up in the South, I have a fondness for Southern Gospel Music. Wish I could get an .mpg version of that song, since the albulm is was recorded on is no longer available.
Best Regards to you Mr. Talley. You have a remarkalbe tallet and a great testement to you Faith. I look forward to listening to more of your music both past and present.

Keenan,
I am reminded of a song called the stained glass mazquarade. Its about how so many times christians hide their true feelings behind a mask. "smiling plastic people, under shining plastic steeples." But if we could look beneath the mask we might find a person who is heart broken and hurting. And how maybe if we could take off the masks we would kneel at the altar and ask for help. Its a lot easier to judge someone when you've never imagined what its like to walk in their shoes. Even Kirk himself has been guilty of this. We all have. But this attitude of unforgiveness and judging is part of the reason why people hide.

Keenan, those of us who understand what it means to need a "Saviour" will not pick up one stone and cast it Kirk's way. God uses transparent and honest people. What about the woman who washed Jesus feet and dried them with her hair? Jesus honored her honest, broken heart, and the self-righteous do-gooders got told off.
Temptation is tempation and sin is sin. God does not categorize it. His solution is a Saviour, and Kirk has demonstrated his dependence on this Saviour. God cannot work with a prideful, dishonest heart. Sometimes he has to bring us way down so that we understand what it means to rely completely on Him.
I saw Kirk's DVD "My Story, My Song", and it was the most encouraging thing I had heard in a long time. You see, I too need forgiveness and grace. I don't deserve it by any means. I believe that God will use Kirk more than ever before, because with his testimony, he can now truly reach those who need to experience the grace and mercy of God. There's a huge group of us who were raised in the church and have a lot of head knowledge but struggle in our relationship with Christ - we try in our own strength to be good and fail - what we need is Christ's mercy and grace, just like the unchurched.
God bless you, Kirk, and keep seeking Christ. You are a tremendous encouragement to me!

I haven't commented in a while on here, but my attention was drawn to the comment by Keenan. You could have said the same thing you were trying to say Keenan, but in order to call an individual by these names, I think you should know whether or not that person actually practices that lifestyle. To our knowledge Kirk has said that he struggles with the thoughts and feelings of the lifestyle, not that he actually has experianced the lifestyle. Therefore, the thought or feeling itself doesn't make one a queer. If I thought I wanted to be a car, would it make me a car? If I felt like a car, does that make me a car? The truth that we can all say we know is that Kirk struggles with this , not that he practices this lifestyle. And if he does practices it, that is between him and his Maker. So, enough with the stupid name calling, I'm so sick of hearing and reading it. Now if your a 3rd grader, then I can understand that. Christ is coming! There are more important things to be doing than what you have invested your time doing Keenan

Keenan, I hate to tell you hoss, but you defaced Christianity with that comment. When you look at other's don't be so quick to point out their faults, rather, look at them as the object of God's love. Unfortunately Christian's are no longer seen by the world as kind, loving, and compassionate people, but rather as narrow minded and self righteous. You can take a stand for your beliefs and still be kind and loving to all people despite their sins. Jesus did and you should to. Kirk, God Bless and stay focused on the Lord. He will carry you through.

Amen Pam!! Sin is sin and not one sin is any bigger than another. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. We all need to look at our own lives. Remember, when we point a finger at someone, we have three fingers pointing back at us. Try it. So, lets just pray for each other and let God do what he has to do in his own time . Kirk, I thank God for you and what you are doing. You are a blessing to so many people and don't ever let anyone tell you different. Isn't it interesting that there are some people who believe that they have been blessed with the ability to be Judge and Jury. I feel sorry for you Keenan. Sin is not measured by thimbles and buckets. The attitude of our heart is just as sinful as an act of murder, etc. I am so glad that my life isn't spread across the sky but God says our sins are forgiven and buried in the sea of His forgetfulness and covered by the blood of Jesus. What a prvilege to be in the Sunday service. It was worth the 250 mile round trip. God Bless. He will see you through. l

Dear Bro. Talley,
Greetings to you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Trust this note finds you well.
I listened to you for the first time on a video tape performing with the Talley's at the Christ Church "A Night to remember", a concert that was also conducted in rememberance on your Mom's birthday.
Since then I felt there was something special about your singing.
Though I am in India I am thankful to the Lord for blessing me with some of the songs you have written and sung. I do want to mention that one of the last gifts of my Preacher- Daddy was "What's missing here?" album as he came from the USA before he went to be with the Lord.
Please do keep up the good work. I would like to share with you the Scripture that the Lord is reminding me and it's from 1 Thess 5:21-24 as the same declares "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it". This also means a lot to me as well.

Dear Kirk,
I really did not want to write this comment, but I just keep being drawn back to your website after hearing you this past Sunday morning in Pascagoula, MS at the 8:30 am service at Church on the Rock. I have been a fan for a long time, and didn't really know where you have been, but thank the Lord I came to the service Sunday. I guess I needed reminding that God remembers my prayers for my son who is so far from "home" (my home and God), and also that I need not judge him, but love him back to the fold. I wish I could have remained for the whole service, but I had obligations at my own church. Thank you for your heart of ministry. One last thing, the song you wrote so many years ago "Past Your Past" is one of my favorites. I am glad it is now on soundtrack so that I can now sing it.
Thank you and God bless you.

Greetings in Grace:
Kirk, I have heard of your struggles and how God's Grace has carried you through your journey from pain to gain. Michael English has experienced deep pain and rejection for his struggles, though different in manifestation, never the less painful. I have heard both of you speak of you "discovered God's Grace" and now it is the motivation for you to open up and reach out to others.
I have struggled with the same "thorn of the flesh" as you have and in recent years finally somewhat grasped God's Grace. Though i will probably always struggle with this issue though the intensity varies from time. I have determined to not stopped but to keep on going serving the Lord and fulfilling the ministry He has placed me in and enabled me to finish my course.
You and Michael English have both spoken on God's grace and has always reinforced my confidence in that Grace that saves, seals and delivers us safely into the presence of God after our life is over here.
Once thing that has been difficult is not to allow others to determine my "spirituality" and especially that I should get out of the ministry. Though it is hard sometimes I find support in Paul's words "the gifts and callings of God are without repentance"-why? Because He knew our frailties and inner turmoil-continous struggles with the sin nature- yet HE called us to serve Him. Remember He became Man-not that we could become God! Remember what we do is not necessarily who we are! I find great comfort in two verses- "Ye are accepted(Greek literally is "graced") in the Beloved" (Eph 1:6) and "ye are complete in Him (Col. 2:10) Did you get that Kirk? YOU ARE (present tense) COMPLETE (means not lacking anything- or nothing more to do) in Him! These two verses have helped me through the struggle(s) i have encountered.
Praying for your contenuance in the ministry of Grace Singing! Remember Paul says "we are saved by grace"(Eph. 2:5) and "For by grace are ye being saved (Greek). In Galatians 3 Paul, the Apostle of Grace, states that our daily sanctification is ALSO BY FAITH! We don't do anything to get saved (other than believe in the Gospel 1 Cor. 14:1-5) and so IT IS with our daily sanctification! We are sanctified by faith NOT WORKS! That is hard to intake when we have been programed to "earn our right to be accepted" our entire lives.
In closing, remember that "who can condemn us? IT IS CHRIST WHO JUSTIFIES US"!
Growing in Grace,
Pastor David Carden
