CommentsI was told today that there are certain Gospel Groups who are very popular today that will not agree to be on the program with you. Here's one Kirk Talley fan that will no longer go see these groups! The one's that think they are so high and mighty will only have a little further to fall. I doubt that their superior "vision" will help them when it happens. Here's one fan that's had enough.

CommentsAs you kniow Kirk, we were also at your concert on Goat Day in Blountstown and what a blessing we received. I just wanted the people out there to know that your performance was so well persented and the gospel was out there for everyone to hear. People were talking, walking around and the gnats were everywhere but you went right on with the concert and stood firm on your love for the Lord. "Clutch", from a night club in Panama City, were singing right after you and was on and off the stage while you were singing. You never acted offended or said anything to them and just maybe they heard something that will change their life. We were so proud of you. Of course you did just what we expected from you-----letting God take care of the situation. So people out there just know that this guy is real and loves the Lord with all his heart. God bless, Kirk

CommentsHi Kirk!! CONGRATULATIONS on winning the Diamond Award!! That is a BIG accomplishment!!! You are TRULY a gifted singer! I first found out about you and your music at a friends Memorial Service. They had 3 people singing "Serenaded By Angels." My friend had chosen that as one of the songs to be sung at her Memorial Service, as she was unfortunately, terminally ill with cancer. I miss her so much. When they were singing "Serenaded by Angels," there were A LOT of people who started crying. It is a very emotional and beautiful song. I had never heard that song before the Memorial Service, and now it is one of my favorite songs.
Keep up the GREAT WORK and may God Bless you and protect you always--

CommentsHi Kirk,
Last evening our Men of Praise Christian Male Choir sang in concert with another mixed choir at Chalmer's United Church in Woodstock, Ontario and I had an opportunity to refer your website to a former choir member. That reminded me to visit your site as several weeks have passed since doing so.
Congratulations on receiving the Diamond Award! I voted for you and am so glad you were recognized.
When I read the report on your recent "wet road trip", it certainly tickled my funny bone but at the same time it reminded me of how challenging one's career and life's experiences can be. Being in the insurance and investment business, I can certainly relate to the foul weather I have had to endure over the years when making calls day and night. It's a good thing there's always a "new day"!
I look forward to your next visit to Canada and hopefully it will be within driving distance - whenever that will be. You are in my prayers daily and I wish you God's continued blessings on your ministry.
Sincerely,
Charlie Ward

CommentsHello Kirk, I talked with you the other day in Knoxville in a parking lot in the pouring down rain. I enjoyed our conversation. I was moved by our talk and immediately when we parted ways, I began to pray for you and I was, and am led to believe God is going to great and mighty things through you. Keep Looking to the man who can, For the Cause of Christ, Jason

CommentsKirk, I appreciate your honesty. God helps us to bear many things we do not understand. He forgives, forgets and gives us grace to stand. My prayer for you is for His continued healing and guiding. Bless His Holy Name!!

CommentsKirk,
You are much kinder and tolerant than I am! I would have deleted Ronald's comment and he could fall off the planet. Any award is special and you can be PROUD of of it. It took many votes from people that love and appreciate you, to make this award happen. Now I want to say "Good Luck" or "God's Blessings" on you as you were asked to sing at the Southern Gospel Music Awards! I hope you win there also! You still are my favorite. Ella (I LOVE my ABC"s for Life sweat shirt!!)

CommentsDear Kirk, I have had you on my mind all morning, so I had to write what God has put on my heart. Thank God that the only judgement we have to stand in is God's. God DOES NOT catagorize sin, man does. But sin is sin. There is no greater sin than another, except to blaspheme the Holy Ghost! If we are not tempted by satan in someway, then we better look at our lives because the devil has already got us! Even CHRIST was tempted by satan when he was on the earth, so I believe we are in GOOD COMPANY~DON'T YOU!! Last but not least, thank God that there is forgiveness for our mistakes and failures. AS CHRISTIANS WE NEED TO LEARN that we have to forgive too, and not sit in judgement when someone falls. We are to HELP them find their way back and I am so thankful that YOU did find your way back!!! God will use your story to help others...just keep on doing HIS WORK until HE comes! Love and Prayers in your dedication to HIM.

CommentsHi Kirk,
Just wanted to let you know that I was with you eating knats in Blountstown, FL on Oct. 24. You did a terrific job although the weather was hot and humid and the knats where everywhere. I came to Panama City Beach, from Vidor, TX, for a week of vacation and just had to come see you sing so we made the trip to Goats Day in Blountstown. I was the one sitting on the blanket.
I am one of your biggest fans after seeing and of course hearing you sing at Dollywood in October 2002. I am a Krew member and look forward to your newsletters. You are a blessing to me.

CommentsHi Kirk,
I'm 48 years old and was bottle fed southern gospel music as early as I can remember. I was saddened today to hear a little late of the passing of J. Bazzell Mull. Boy, I really hate that. I think there's more of the old timers on the other side now than ever. It was just a few years ago that so many of them were still with us. I will miss Mr. Mull here. The longer we live here, the more we long for home.
Sincerely,
Doug Janeway

CommentsKirk,
i guess it will never stop amazing me that there are people who call themselves christians and still write things like this poor soul Ronald. we should really lift him up in prayer and ask the Lord to give him a Godly heart. the One and Only heart God would want us to have a forgiving and understanding and LOVING heart. if we could just all work to be like HIM. we wouldn't waste our time judging one another but loving and caring for each other. i was raised to know right from wrong and i know what the Bible says. and i believe it, with my whole heart. but you know what i also know that we as TRUE CHRISTIANS, have to have a heart like Christ. and i know my God has open arms for all who seek him. so i am asking all of the Krew to lift Ronald up and pray for his heart of Christ. Always your friend kim

CommentsSo you won a Diamond Award. No great accomplishment. Don't you know the only official award is the SINGING NEWS FAN AWARDS? No one puts any validity in the other awards ...nor in you. Why don't you give up and go be whatever it is you want to be? And take some of the others with you!

CommentsKirk so Glad to hear you singing again, It has always amazed me thru the years when one of the family of God goes thru difficult times, that is when the body throws them out like a pan of dirty dish water, forgetting were all just saved by grace, God is still the Potter and were the clay and he heals the broken heart , and gathers us under his wing, Continue to stay under that wing and be molded God will us you mightly..

CommentsHi Kirk,
This is the first time I have been to your web site. It's great to know you're still out there singing. My husband and I followed your career years ago when he was singing in a group also, and saw you many times when you were with the Cathedrals, and then with your family. Our kids even know who you are and I don't think they remember ever seeing you in person. But they heard your music when they were growing up. I had no idea you had been through so much in the last few years. I'm so glad the Lord is doing such wonderful things through you and for you. Keep pressing on and all things will glorify Him. Hopefully I will be able to come to one of your concerts in north Ga. next month.
A fan from way back,
MaryLynn

CommentsI wrote you a couple of weeks ago about how your DVD changed my Husband's attitude toward our son. Well I am so happy to write you again to tell you that after the two of them spoke several times on the phone, our son is coming home for a visit for the first time in over five years. My husband even told our son that he could bring his partner into our home. That decision was very difficult for my husband, but surely, God has done a great work in his heart. Our family is beginning to mend, all because God used your testimony. Thank you again!

CommentsA friend of ours gave me your Live At The River Dvd. You will never know the impact it has made on my family. My Husband and I have been pastoring churches for over 40 years. He has always put the church first, always the stern, authoritative figure, very demanding of his children to be anything but the typical "pastor's kid". We have two daughters and a son. My husband was especially tough on our son, sometime, in my opinion, too harsh, but as the submissive wife, I didn't say anything. Our son was not allowed to play with the boys from our churches, he was not allowed to play sports in high school because "Pastor" didn't want him in the locker room with the other players. Well, we are paying for those decisions now. One of my daughters is happily married with two children, the other one is living with a black man in Atlanta, and our son has long since moved to Denver to live an openly gay life with his partner. For the past five years, My husband hasn't wanted me to talk to the daughter or our son. My husband chose not to speak to our son five years ago. We have even left the pastorate in shame (his) because the last congregation we were in learned of our son's life. Last night a new friend of ours here gave us your Dvd. My husband and I watched it. As you gave your testimony, "Dad" began to cry. Five years of bitterness and hate began to melt. My husband slipped out of his recliner and got down on his knees and asked God to forgive him. We prayed together and asked for another chance with our kids. My husband got up from the floor and asked for Ben's (our son) phone number. Last night about midnight, I heard my husband say ''I'm sorry" for the first time. Please pray that our son will open his heart and allow us to at least know him better. I have no idea what will happen, but we sure want a relationship with our children. Thank you for being honest enough to share your struggle. It made a difference in our family....just last night.

CommentsMr. Talley,
I attended the conference last weekend in Macon where you sang and spoke. I wanted to send a special "Thank You" for sharing so honestly with an audience that was obviously so different from who you normally sing to. I am a Christian who happens to be gay, 29 years old and very happy in my relationship with Christ and my partner. I attend a church that allows me to be active in ministry, knowing that I am a gay American. The reason for my writing to you is to thank you for being so politically correct on the whole gay issue, probably without your even knowing you are. Let me explain. I am not a fan of the exgay movement, the group that brought you into Macon. I know several people that have come out of Exodus programs more confused than ever. But I attended the entire day, and heard every speaker that was there. I understand that each one of those speakers had supposedly walked out, or was trying to convince us that they had walked out of homosexuality or same sex attraction. But as I listened to each of their speeches, I heard and saw many contradictions, excuses why others might not be able to, areas they still struggled with, loopholes with reasons why some people can't......all kinds of hints that they STILL wrestled with same sex attraction. I didn't come as a skeptic, but honestly I left as one, doubting more and more the message that they tried to convey. I thought it was ironic that your part of the program was held to the conclusion of the day. (And I noticed which of the speakers were present and which were not when you spoke). I appreciate the fact that you didn't try and support any political view of the gay or the exgay issue, You simply told YOUR story . The entire time you were telling your story, God was speaking to me, saying "just listen to what he is saying". Thank you for encouraging me, as well as the entire audience, to a "closer, more intimate relationship with Jesus" as your song so honestly stated. I left there realizing that I will wrestle with things all my life, all kinds of things, everyone will.....But I left there hearing and knowing that the better I know Christ, the happier I am. I loved the illustration in the hymn TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS. Every person alive will have temptations and struggles.....Thank you for pointing out that one is no worse than another in the eyes of God.... they all will GROW STRANGELY DIM IN THE LIGHT OF HIS GLORY AND GRACE. That's what the Gospel of Jesus is all about. Please do not publish my Email address as I certainly don't need emails from those who have opposing opinions to convince me that I am going straight to hell. I am most secure in my relationship with Christ and proud to know he is the King of Who I am. And I honestly believe, he is your king too. Thank you for having such an honest approach to an issue that has been argued for centuries and will continue to be argued until Christ returns. Keep doing what you are doing, stay focused on YOUR story, don't be swayed by what others want you to say, Keep telling people to TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS............
