Dear Kirk, I was in the hospital recently and having really bad time with vivid dreams and adverse reactions to medications they gave me for pain. On a Friday night I was at my ropes end, I thought. I called for someone to help to the bathroon and my nurse, Melody, came in herself since it was the time most all of her patients were sleeping. After she helped drag my IV pole with me to the little restroom by my bed she left the door open so she could hear me and stepped aside. I noticed her reflection in the window of the room. She didn't know I could see her. She began to move her arms and hands towards Heaven and I could tell there was some message to what she was doing. I came out and asked if she did ballet and she said that she danced to bible verses and gospel songs. It was so beautiful. She was a rather tall black young lady and we began to share. I told her about your song Intimacy with Jesus. The words in the chorus about touching he face and holding his hand and feeling his heart beat and she began to make the moves for those words, it was beautiful. I could'nt remember all the words but I gave her you name and website and she said she was going to send for the CD. I told her she would find several others she would love. I just wanted to share this with you. You just never know who you will meet at just a time and place as that. We love you and are so happy to hear you are receiving bookings in places where you used to go. But, when they come to see you they will know that you are not the same person as before. Praise God!

Hey Kirk: I just read the comments about your working in a department store. I've watched you in there too, and I just wanted to say how great you are in that capacity too. A lot of people are going to receive great Christmas presents this year because you are in there helping people pick out great looking outfits! I admire you for being willing to get out there and work rather than sit home and feel sorry for yourself because your calendar isn't full. I KNOW you will never stop singing and writing. You know better than any of us that is your calling. And I KNOW God has a new direction for your ministry and is opening more and more new doors. And I also KNOW the old promoters are starting to come back. So to all your fans out there - don't be discouraged - be thankful for what God is doing in Kirk's life! Love you bud!

I just have to share this with you all because it was so funny to me. I recently bought Kirk's new project, "Live at the River" (If you don't have it--BUY IT!!) My husband is not a fan of southern gospel music, he's more of the contemporary music lover. Anyways I have been listening and relistening to this CD until I think it's worn out. :o) Anyways, I can home the other night and my husband was in the shower. Now I thought he was yelling at me, but as I got closer to the door I realized he was singing, at the top of his lungs...."MY MY MY, WHAT A JOY TO SERVE MY JESUS...OH" and so on. Now let me tell you, it was worse than bad. He cannot sing to save his life, and I'm sure the Lord was shaking his head and laughing the whole time, right along with me, and then I thought you know, God said "Make a joyful noise" he didn't say it had to be on key, or even the right words, he just said make a joyful noise!! Praise the Lord for laughter!! And for giving us opportunities to laugh!! God Bless Everyone....Happy Holidays!

You are one of my favorite gospel singers and I never gave up on you as I knew with the help of God you would overcome and be a much stronger person. You have a purpose that He has given you and you are on that journey. I hope I can get to see you next time you come to Maryville.

I saw you today in Profitts Mens Store selling suits. I stood back and watched you as you helped people pick things out. It made me angry to think that promoters and pastors aren't booking you. You are probably the most talented singer/songwriter and minister to come through Gospel Music, and here you are working in a Department Store. Half the singers out on the road are far LESS talented and just as guilty of all kinds of sin as they think you are. I am praying for you and I am praying that someday the promoters who refuse to book you now see the error of their ways and will get you out of that department store and back on the road full time where you belong.

Just today I received the DVD"Live At The River." I sat and watched it over and over and over. I don't see how anyone that is a Christian or just anyone really could watch this and not have a forgiving heart. I shed every tear that you shed, and I really felt the Love Of the Lord in you. I have a Grandson that is gay. He is in a relationship and don't want to change. I still love him. He knows we do not condone the life style that he is living, but at the same time he knows that we still love him, and I will never as long as I live give up on him.

several months ago i wrote to you blasting you about your current struggle.we chatted back and forther a few times and left things preety much up in the air.today i write you asking you to forgive me for the names and remarks i made toward you.alot has happened since we chatted and i find that i have struggles also.because of your position and the ministry you're in,i placed you on a higher playing field than i should have.you're human and in no way sheltered from the devil and his ways of deceit.i also believe that because of my judemental attitude, it harmed my own ministry to the point it has become none existant.but i'm back working in my church as music minister and because i've allowed god to show me my shortcomings its opened doors i only had hoped for in the past. so to those casting judement on you i say"do not judge lest ye be judged." again i am truely sorry and pray that you will always seek god's will in your life and continue doing what you do.and if you ever need help..."i know a man who can!"

Kirk, God bless you for sharing your testimony and a story that needs to be told. We all have struggles and we'd all prefer them to stay hidden, forgetting that nothing is hidden from God. And you just reminded me of that. You have, in your story, pinpointed the answer to any struggle anyone has-- learn to walk in the grace of God. I thank God for your honesty and willingness to share. I will be praying for you as you continue your ministry. ann

I wanted to respond to Penny's comment about Southern Baptists. Please don't put all "Baptist" in the "most hateful" catagory. I'm a southern Baptist, and I have not condemned or judged Kirk Talley. I have supported him, prayed for him and tried to encourage him. Recently I have talked with several people that call themselves "chrisitans" all over the world, of EVERY religion there is, the problem with christianity in general today is that people have taken their eyes off God. They've picked up the gavel and the law book so to speak and they've thrown it people because of their sin. Again, EVERY denomination has done that, we are all human, we all feel at times that we have the right to judge, but we don't. God is the only RIGHTEOUS JUDGE! Penny, I'm truly sorry for any amount of hurt the Baptist churches may have caused, but remember, there are good baptist's out there too. God Bless.

I just looked at your schedule and saw the Singing In The Sun and the Gatlinburg Gathering concerts added. CONGRATULATIONS. I will be at both of those concerts because you are my favorite singer and I will support you there!

I stumbled across your website while looking for a song that you wrote probably 20 years ago, Triumphantly the Church Will Rise, and read your testimony. I just want to encourage you to listen to God's voice without a veil of fear or concern of what others say. It has been my experience that people in the Southern Baptist churches will find a way to attack anybody who does not conform to a narrowly defined description of what they want. Shortly after my divorce, I found myself supporting my child without help. I had gained weight and gone from wearing $300 suits to two outfits from K-Mart. People from the Baptist church knocked on my door and told me I needed to dress better in order to attend their church. Then there was the time that I prayed God would make a way for me to get a hair cut, since I didn't have any money after paying tithes. A former beautician from the same church knocked on my door and told me that the Lord laid it on her heart to tell me to go get a haircut and get my hair styled in order to be more presentable in church. Then there was the person who came and asked me not to park my car in the church parking lot since it was old and ugly. Since I only lived a few blocks from the church I should walk (which I would have done if I didn't have to cross a four-lane road with a baby.) I don't understand why they don't get that judgement is God's job description; loving, encouraging, forgiving, are in our job description. Was Christ so hateful and condemning to sinners? No. He condemned the people who judged the sinners! And, we still don't get it today. I know you're probably thinking, "What's the connection?" But, sometimes you have to rise above the people who are condemning you and realize that they are not where they need to be on their spiritual walk. In my experience, Southern Baptist people are the most hateful, condemning group of "Christians" I have ever met. There are more curciuts out there than the Southern Baptists. Maybe you have outgrown them. PS: No, I have never had the experience with same-sex addiction. I am a woman in my fifties.

Kirk Talley touched my life when I was around 10 years old. My Dad raised us playing southern gospel music and taking us to every concert within 3 states. Anyway down near Fayetteville Ar- at Brumleys all night singing (I think?) Kirk asked me to run and find him somethin to prop up his record display sign with. I ran and looked under the bleachers and found a popsicle stick , and gave it to him. He smiled and gave me a dollar. I went back to sit down and had some popcorn, my mother saked me " where did you get the money for that? I told her Kirk talley gave me a dollar. Thanks man- for 21 years ago Anthony 11-16-05

Kirk, My husband and I have missed you especially at Singing in the Sun (remember the bike riders at the very first event). I hope and pray that you will be back soon in Myrtle Beach. We were at the Gatlinburg Gathering when you sang and gave your testimony. That took a lot of strength and courage. I think of you often and say a prayer for you that God will continue to protect and bless you. Hope you get to southeast Texas soon. I ask the Talleys about you every time we here them. Hi Kirk, I'm sure that if you publish this, I'll catch a lot of flack for recommending this site to you, but I have battled the same attractions that you have, the Lord has allowed me to overcome my attractions. I am now happily married and have two adorable girls. Unless you have been through this, many people don't understand it. I do. I read an article on a website that talks about "overcoming homosexualty", it's found on www.foundationsforfreedom.net I read this article almost everyday, and I trust God to help me to realize that this is wrong, that he did not design us to be male with male and female with female. It goes against all that he designed. Therefore, it is sin. Like you, I went through many years of counselling. I struggled, fought, and cried my way back to the arms of Jesus. My wife and I are open and honest with each other about everything. When those feelings and attractions creep in again, and believe me, they still do, we pray and repent of those unnatural thoughts. If this doesn't get published, that's fine, I just wanted you to know, brother to brother, overcomer to overcomer, you can get through this. Trust God to show you the unholy. Trust him everyday, even when you don't understand. God be with you. In Christ, John Greene

I know you don't know me, but I've known about you for what seems like forever. You see, I grew up on Southern Gospel music. Matter of fact - Wayne Haun is my first cousin (his daddy and my daddy are brothers). Anyhow, I haven't been into the Southern Gospel music since I was old enough to make the decision on what I wanted to listen to. I still listen to gospel, but I'm more contemporary. I just wanted to say Thank You. We all struggle with sins, everyday. If we were perfect, then we wouldn't need the blood of Jesus, would we? I'm sure there are many artists in gospel music who share your struggles. Unfortunately, they can't or won't be truthful about it. That's a shame when we can't forgive our own family. I hope that as a Christian, I am not judgemental. There is only one judge and jury and I don't remember being called for that. Kirk, I will be praying for you. Please keep strong and remember that God loves you.

Kirk, You were at our church in Coward, S. C. this past Sunday. You were such a blessing to us. Your gifts are certainly God given and you are using them for His Glory. Your "whistling" is AWESOME and so ANOINTED!! As you related your testimony, I thought about Joseph and the pit. No doubt that was the worst time in his life. God didn't leave him there. It was only a step toward promotion. God isn't going to leave you where you are now. Your best days are ahead of you. Keep looking up. We will continue to pray for you. What the enemy means for evil, God is able to turn around and make good. I think one day you will look back and called this time in your life a blessing.

It was a joy and a pleasure to see you Sunday in SC. It is my prayer that you will continue to go where ever God sends you to minister to hurting people. And that you will continue to be led by the Holy Spirit to speak what he puts in your heart. I know God will never lead you where his word is not confirming truth. In Christ, Rebecca

Kirk, I'm not sure if you see these e-mails or if someone at your office read them and then delete. I have to say this Kirk. When I read your testimony I feel so much like it's my own life. A struggle that I've had for so many years and still struggle with today. I see in your life someone who has made it through by the grace of God. Someone who had this thorn in his side but by the power of God has found strength to deal with this "thorn". Thank you Kirk for sharing your life with us. I will probably not make it to one of your concerts but would love to hear your testimony in person. Please pray for me. Whoever reads this. Continue to be the lighthouse that you are. I will pray for you and ask that God bless your ministry to the fullest. It's needed Kirk. Believe me, it's needed so very much. Especially by people like me. God bless you. Andy

Mr. Talley - I recently read your story, and I am once again struck at the hypocrisy and intolerance of so-called "Christians." Hello Kirk: I just read the review of your new video in US Gospel News and I sure was glad to see yet another voice appreciates quality work and real worship. You are truly several cuts above the average Southern Gospel artist! For those viewers who want to read the review they can find it here http://www.usgospelnews.com/usgn_artman/uploads/video_views_001.pdf I have heard you sing your new song "Judge Not" several times now and am always impressed with the complete silence for several seconds at the end of it as the message sinks in. This surely is an anointed gift from God and will be used by Him to change lives. I hope it is recorded soon. Thank you Kirk for not giving up...you are loved, appreciated and admired by many, many people!

Kirk, Thanks for being with us at Gath Baptist in McMinnville last Sunday night. I have received lots of phone calls telling me about the blessings that came out of that evening with you. I am so glad that when people around you kept thowing mud and trying to push you lower to the ground, that you were able in God's strength to get up and keep going on for our Lord. May you be blessed as God opens doors for you to share your story and your song. I love you in Christ and pray for you daily. Be blessed!
