CommentsI was very happy to be present on Saturday night and Sunday morning for the taping of the new vidio. God deserves the very best, and that is just what He received from all who took part in the process. You could feel the presents of God in the RIVER OF LIFE CHURCH from the minute you entered the door. I know God was pleased to see his servents praising Him and doing their very best for Him. God Bless all who took part. I can hardly wait to see the finished product. I know it will be the very best .

I recently had the opportunity to work with Kirk on his video in Smyrna, Tn. It was lots of fun and it was an honor to be a part of it. If you have not heard Kirk's
testimony in person, I encourage you to do so. You will come away changed. The first time that he was at our church was one of those times that you had to be there in person, you could not explain it to anyone. It is just one more confirmation, about what a mighty God we serve. He is definitely in the restoration business. Keep up the good work Kirk. You are the best.

Hi, I traveled about 8 hours to see Kirk, and to hear his testimony. I wish I could explain the revitalizing my spirit recieved. I have had the same struggle as he has for many years, and it is so confusing to me that I do not even try to deal with it. I just praise the lord for my life every chance I get and stopped worring about what others think of me. I would love to be in church again, worshiping every sunday. But I am held on a pedastal because of my struggle. which gives me NO DESIRE to fellowship wiith the Body of Christ. but this weekend was a huge exception. I felt warmly welcomed sooo much that I have actually considered moving to Symrna, and joining River of Life Church. I will continue to pray about that one though, need to hear it from God ya know.

CommentsHi Kirk,
I had the chance to read your testimony. That was an incredible story. God has a plan for each of us, including you. No matter what HE has planned for you, as long as you are faithful, HE will reveal HIS plan to you soon. I will be praying for you, brother.

CommentsWOW! What a weekend! For those of you who weren't in Smyrna Saturday and Sunday you really missed 2 great services!
Kirk's live taping was the best I have ever been to! His choice of guests was perfect - each in their own way added variety, annointing and blessing to the program. The choir and spirit of River of Life church were an absolute delight to see and hear. The choir knew the songs and sang with such enthusiasm and energy that they lit a fire under all of us. The audience response was wonderful. I have never ever seen an audience on their feet so many times during a concert - it was just one standing ovation after another. And last, but certainly not least, Kirk was at his very best! His duet with Allison Speers will blow you away! He has written and chosen songs for this project that will make you remember how gospel music at its very best can and does minister to us. Kirk has shown that he still has all his talent and wit, all his great ability to communicate, but with a new depth that takes the audience to a new height in worship. THANK YOU KIRK! I hope NO ONE misses this project!

Dear Kirk, ANNOINTED, AWESOME, I really do not have words to say about this project. Every time I hear your testimony, I am so deeply touched. I have never heard you sound better. From the beginning on Sat. night when Johnny Minick prayed for everyone involved - even the equipment, I could feel God's presence. All of your special guest were great. Allison has been in a tie with Sandi Patty as my favorite Soprano since I heard her do "Because He Lives" on the Gaither's London Homecoming. But I think she overtook the top favorite today. Your duet with her is the most awesome , ANNOINTED vocal duet I have ever seen. You blew away Sandi and Larnell's "I've Just Seen Jesus". I did not think anything could top that. After this project is released, how do we get it nominated for duet of the year, special collabration, whatever??
Also, the ladies from your home church are so wonderful. Their get=together at the hotel Sat. night was just great. That was my first Kirk's Krew party. By the way, I thin you need to include us Georgia members next time. There will be a next time???????????
I recently got around to reading Sandi Patty's book (had it for some time) and oh, did it ever hit home with me. It is amazing how similiar in many ways your restoration process was to hers. Thank God for compassionate, loving preachers and Christians. The group that I am helping promote (The Old Path's Trio) sing a song "They Raised Compassion" that I really love. The words are powerful.
I can hardly wait for this project to be out, (I guess I will have to), but know that God is using you to reach people that you probably never would have before in your career. As I am learning the ugly business side and politics in this industry first hand, you need only to look at the people that are surrounding you in support, love, compassion, words of encouragement, and most of all prayer. The letters from pastors where you have been tell the story. Not to mention all the other wonderful comments on your site. I would like to think that someday the negative stuff will end, but Satan will always be fighting with whatever he can throw at you to discourage you. But our God is an AWESOME God, and He is using you in an awesome way.
I know I am not telling you anything I have not told you before, but I will always be here to pray for you and speak words of encouragement to you.
Your Sister in Christ,
Cindy Mize

My husband and I had the priviledge of hearing you sing "many" years ago in Southern Ontario (that would be Canada..and no, we don't live in igloos) and, with the help of our three teenage sons, actually wore out some of the tapes that we had purchased back then. I was glad to hear news of you and want to thank you for the encouragement of your testimony. We truly have an awesome God. CommentsPersonally I don't think Kirk needs to modify the message board. Whether we agree or disagree, it is interesting and sometimes entertaining to read. Having served Jesus for many years & having been forgiven many times for many things, I cannot understand why people can't forgive & forget. What does it matter if homosexuality is a choice or whatever? Kirk has asked forgiveness from God. We have no choice but to forgive him. If we don't, it will stand between us & God. I have a child who struggles with this sin. God has promised me a healing for her. I hope some of you are not around when this happens. She doesn't need "Christians" like this. She needs people who have been pardoned by the blood of Jesus Christ themselves & who are willing to forgive & forget, just like they expect others to do for them.

CommentsI agree with Mary Lou. She is an example of what I have found the majority of the Christian community to be and the reason I left the church 19 years ago and do not participate in it to date. I unfortunatley fell into a similar circumstance by accident and left before I was thrown out. When people began to learn my circumstance they felt the same way as Mary Lou and told me what an awful person I was. They were so right and because of that I have not returned to an active part in the church. I am not able to participate because I fell to the unpardonable sin and will probably never return because of the Mary Lou's. Of course during this episode my pastor at the time as well as one of the deacons of the church were seeing women that were not their wives and it has wound up pretty okay for them. He is still a pastor with a new wife and the deacon is still a deacon with a new wife different from the other woman he was living with at the time.
None-the-less Thank you Mary Lou for reminding me again today why I am not worthy of participating in church and another reason why I am not good enough to ever return to my first love.
And interestingly enough "I" included my email address so you can contact me personally where you will learn that I have an opinion about you as strong or stronger than you do about me.

The Bible says ye who are without sin, Let him cast the first stone. If you think that you do not have struglles and sin, well I feel sorry for you because that means Satan already has you and is living inside you.... If you see a brother in need you are supposed to pick them up not RUN over them and Slander their name in the MUD!!! Please reconsider your thoughts and try praying for someone before you start running your BIG MOUTH!!!! God loves Kirk Talley as much as he loves you and he is working on Kirk. So unless you are Woman enough to confess your sin as Kirk was man enough to do, Then Hush!
Kirk we are praying for you and hope that you will let God do more great things in your life.

Your feelings are understandable, considering the circumstances in the past. Trust is a very fragile thing. Once it is broken it is hard to re-establish it.
Although you mentioned what happened in Kirk's past, you never mentioned what is going on right now. As far as anyone knows Kirk's claim to trying to live a real Christian life now is valid. Do you or anyone else have any proof that this is not true? If so, then you have a valid claim for you complaints. If not.... well, you don't.
God Bless You

It looks to me like Mary Lou is angry with Kirk. At first I was angry too. Disappointed really. I was looking at him as a model person. Someone I wanted to be like spiritually. It was very disappointing to find out that my hero was an imperfect man. That was my fault! I was looking at man. The word of God tells us not to put our eyes on man, man will let us down, we are to keep our eyes on Jesus. He is the only one without sin. I had to forgive Kirk and myself for not being perfect. We all need to remember, "but for the grace of God go I" What we are tempted with is not a choice but whether we yield to the temptation or not is a choice. In Mary Lou's defense, many of the comments toward her are no different than the one she made. Two wrongs don't make a right! Kirk said it best in his newsletter this week. "Let's just love Jesus together and pray for each other!" I still want to be like Kirk spiritually.

CommentsMary Lou, the truth is, homosexuality is not a sickness,it starts out as a temptation, just like drugs, or alcohol, gossip, or backbiting! If the temptation is acted upon, it IS a sin, and just like any other sin, it can turn into an addiction. Unfortunately, it can be worse than any other addiction, b/c it is considered so taboo and is often hidden. No, God does not create homosexuals, and you are right, it is a choice, just like it was a choice for you to slander Kirk on his on website. Kirk never swindled any money from anyone. Kirk IS a Christian with a servants heart. Yes, he has sinned, but do you expect everyone in Southern Gospel to announce their sins when they get on stage. They do not have to confess to anyone but God Himself. The truth is, I feel very sorry for you, b/c you are living in a very close minded sheltered world, and be careful, what you say, your words may come back to haunt you. I do agree with you on the fact that I too would like to see Kirk be able to get away from all this talk with his struggles. He sinned, He confessed and has been forgiven..lets get on with it. God Bless you Kirk. In Christ's love...PP

CommentsKirk,
This is concerning the message you so "honestly" posted from Mary Lou. Mary Lou, my only advice to you is that YOU MUST SWEEP YOUR OWN DOORSTEP BEFORE SWEEPING SOMEONE ELSES.".
Have a blessed and forgiving day and I hope you now know that Kirk is honest and will post any message, even if it is from people like you that apparantly feel they are "above" all else. If I remember right, WE are not the judges, only GOD does that and I thought your name was Mary Lou and not God.

CommentsMary Lou -- How disappointing to read comments such as yours and know that you are out there professing to be a Christian and turning folks off with your self rightous attitude. I'd like to ask you just one question: who else do you think should let us know up front what their sexual orientation is? Should that be a prequesite to loving and serving God? It is NONE OF OUR BUSINESS what goes on in a person's private life and frankly, I could care less. Entertainers are just that....they have a private life that we have no right to know about. Kirk didn't have to tell us ANYTHING about his private life, but he did (I doubt you would be so forthcoming with information about your personal life) and he has asked for forgivenness from God and from his fans. That's all he needs to do. Any money I've spent to attend his concerts or buy his products was done willing. Frankly, I've bought more from him in the last year and a half than I ever did before. I suggest if it irritates you so much to hear Kirk's "harping", then just don't listen. He is "getting on with his life", but people like you seem determined to try to bring him down no matter what he does.

CommentsI have to agree with Allen (an earlier poster). Its hard for me to believe that being gay is a choice. Who would want to suffer thru the stereotypes, stigma, etc. ? I appreciate Kirk's determination in dealing with his issues. I think the church in general needs to engage in more dialogue on the issue of homosexuality. Its not going away.

CommentsMary Lou I guess you found out that Kirk really does post all comments - even those like yours.
Now lets see if you are as willing to read this all the way through.
You insinuate that Kirk's "so called fans" don't know the truth about him or his ministry. This is what I know. I know God has given Kirk great talent and I know Kirk is using it to serve God whom he loves and Who loves him. I have been in many, many of Kirk's services since he has been singing again and there is absolutely no doubt that God is using him mightily. If you don't believe that you need to come to one yourself!
You seem to make yourself an authority on a lot of things, homosexuality, the Bible, Christianity, naivety of people, mistakes, what should be on messages boards and on and on. Your whole tone is so critical and condemning. I'm sure you are familiar with John 3:16 - please read John 3:17 again. It's my belief God is a God of forgiveness, love, grace and restoration - not condemnation. If you don't like Kirk's comment section (I guess that is what you are calling a message board) than the solution for you is simple. Don't go there - don't read it. The rest of us really don't need you to "set us straight

Gosh, I think Mary Lou did us all a huge favor. We seldom get to really see the kind of cruelty that ignorance and judgment causes to our brothers and sisters. This way, we all get to help you bear the pain together, Kirk. It's pretty clear that you are not the one stirring up controversy or pointing fingers. I mean, it would have been easy for you to just deny everything and then be silent on the subject, rather than be transparent and honest and share your journey with us - oh, but that would make you a hypocrite, wouldn't it? And you chose NOT to be one. So, even though Mary Lou clearly baited you with the "let's see if you really print this" stuff, I'm glad you did. Now we can see first hand what you endure for the gospel.
I wouldn't even dignify the whole "it's not a choice" and "you must have known deep inside" stuff. (Clearly, Mary Lou knows deep inside who she is - she named herself a hypocrite before anyone else did.) We all know how silly and ultimately futile that kind of debate is. I mean, what if we really could absolutely determine where same-sex desire comes from? What if we could PROVE beyond any doubt when Kirk first knew he felt it? How would that further the gospel? How would that draw ME closer to Jesus? How would that bring the Kingdom closer to this hurting world? Where did we decide we could squander our time in judging each other when there is SO much to do?
Even if all you Mary Lou's out there are right, let me gently suggest that you take all that time you have and spend it on loving your neighbor, or raising money for a local charity, or volunteering at your church. SOMETHING that lifts Jesus up

Comments(Please do not show my email address). I just wanted you to know that I am one of your PAIN memebers. I also wanted to give you a verse that I have held on to for years. My Sunday School teacher gave us this verse and since then it has become my lifeline verse..... Jeremiah 29:11-14 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile."
He knows our future (at least the one he would like for us to choose). That is a settling thought. The first verse of that passage is my lifeline verse. Now last weekend I attended a seminar on "Cat & Dog Theology" and "Top-Line vs. Bottom-Line Theology". Cat Theology - All About Me and what God can do for me. Jesus died on the cross for MY sins and to save ME, Dog Theology - All About God and what we can do for Him. Jesus died on the cross to bring Glory and Honor to His Father. Top Line - just reading verse 11 of this passage and leaving it there. (Kind of Cat Theology). God knows MY future and He has big plans for ME. Bottom-Line - What does He want me to do with these plans...........go into the nations and bring them back to him (the rest of the verses.)
Hang in there and look into more on this Cat & Dog Theology. I guarantee it will enhance your ministry ten-fold.
All our love and prayers.

CommentsI have to agree with Shirley from Missouri. I have listened to Kirk's music and seen him in person for many years. I never felt like he deceived or swindled money out of me in any way. I have heard him say or insinuate that he was perfect. He never (that I heard) said he was hetrosexual, why would he even address that???? I have listened to the songs he has written for years now, and being a spirit filled Christian, I discern a lot of humility and pain in his songs. You can't hear his lyrics and not hear some hurt and pain interwoven in his songs. I never once got the idea that he thought he was perfect or even "good". I even have the latest Trio DVD and he says on there that "there's not a man up here that's perfect, we all deal with things in our life". I am not stupid enough to think that any Gospel Singer is perfect! I think Mary Lou us just a mad woman who wants to stir up trouble. She said that Kirk talked about his problems on his website all the time. I can't find where Kirk has talked about it at all other than posting his testimony on his page. People who post comments have discussed it somewhat, but Kirk hasn't..............and in Mary Lous comment she talks about "why would God create a condition in which his children are cursed with something he found abominable". Good Question, why would God allow some children to be born deformed, why would he allow some to be retarted, Why would he allow any of us to be anything but perfect vessels destined to worship him? Mary Lou, do you think the level of forgiveness is different for abominatinos and smaller sins? I don't see where abominations are unforgiveable, do you? Mary Lou, If you would like to hear something else discussed on his comments, then why did you bring it up again? .........Just another indication that you are nothing more than a troublemaker.

Kirk, I have read some of the comments from others. I cannot believe what they have writtern. The one from the person that said you swindled a lot of money out of people for buying your merchandise - I have purchased a lot of your CD's , I was never pressured to do so, I bought them because I love to hear you sing and tell your stories. I miss seeing you at the cave in MO each fall- will be glad when the Lesters bring you back. Keep singing for the Lord, he knows your heart and how you feel. He is a all loving God. Your testimony is great, and I praise the Lord that you finally did come out and get this off your chest so that the healing could begin. It must of been hard carrying that burden around, He tells us to bring our burdens to Him and He will give us rest. Look forward to you being in the St Louis area sometime.

CommentsResponding to Mary Lou's email, Maam, you simply do not know what you're talking about. You're judging Kirk unfairly and playing God in the process. Remember, that's God's job to judge Kirk Talley; not yours. And being a homosexual does not have anything to do with being a Christian. According to the Bible (God's word), the ONLY thing God will not forgive is not accepting Him. If God accepts Kirk as he is, why can't you? And Kirk has not swindled anyone out of anything. I agree with one comment you made though-- you are a hypocrite. You should know that the Bible also says, "For All Have Sinned And Come Short of The Glory Of God." You have a right to your opinions, but I won't comment about you or them any further as I refuse to exchange wits with an unarmed person. I will pray for you.

CommentsTHIS IS DIRECTED TO MARY LOU:
I don't find one post on this comment section from Kirk Talley, all the posts are from others. If you want to talk about something else, why then did you bring it up again??? I am a gay man, a man that loves the Lord with all my heart. If you think anyone in their right mind would choose this kind of life long "hell" (I hope that's not considered cussing) then you are totally out of your mind. The tone of your letter and the way you signed off are totally opposite. If you know anything about Christ at all, you should know that he is a God of compassion. Kirk Talley has asked for forgiveness and is trying to move on with his life, You are the one that's keeping it stirred up.

CommentsHey Kirk! I just sat here reading a lot of the comments and the love is truely there. We all know that no one is without sin and we are not to judge. Yes, there will always be some self righteous people out there but you said it well...you are here to serve the Lord and not man. Praise God that HE isn't like man and puts us down when HE can. None of us would be able to hold our heads up. Is one sin greater than another??? NO!!!!! Only in man's eyes. You are a special person and it's obvious that you are loved by many. (Uh, including me!!!) Keep going strong...you are in my prayers and I know that God is pleased with you. What a blessing you are. Sure wish that I could be there for the live recording...if I were able to go I wouldn't know which color shirt to wear though. Ha Ha! Can't wait to see the pictures and then later on get the CD and DVD. I like these verses....
Phil.3:13,14
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. God Bless you Kirk...Love in Christ

CommentsKirk,
You claim on your website that you post all comments (within reason), even those with "different opinions". Let's see if this is really true. People will call me a hypocrite, they'll call me any number of things. But I just want your so-called "fans" to know the truth about you and your ministry. First of all, in all the years before you openly admitted your "problem", you KNEW, deep inside yourself, what/who you were. But did you let your public know this so they could make an informed decision of whether to support you or not? NO, you didn't. You led us to believe that you were something you were not- a true Christian. Essentially, you swindled millions of dollars from unsuspecting people who thought you were a good Christian guy. Guess they learned their lesson. Next of all, homosexuality is a CHOICE, not a "sickness". God adamantly spoke out against homosexuality in the Bible. Why, then, would he create a condition in which His children are cursed with something he found abominable? Not very logical, is it? God does not make mistakes; people do. Homosexuality is a mistake, as are dishonesty and deceit. Finally, I just want to say that although this past year must have been very hard on you, you really need to stop harping on it and get on with your life. It would be nice to hear about something else on your message boards for once.
You will notice that not once in this commentary did I use profane language or call names. Let's see if you were being honest when you said you accepted "different opinions".

(I hope you read this)
First of all I want to say Thank you for being honest with yourself and to all your fans. You are an awesome person and no one can judge you unless they are judged by the same judgment. You are not the only person with this strugle. By you coming "clean" I am able to face my temptations and know I have a father who can help me. You are my hero.. Keep up the good fight. You will get through this and you will help so many people by doing it.
Thank You Kirk Talley.

CommentsKirk -
We would love to come this weekend but the distance is just too prohibative but we will be praying and thinking of you!
We were there last Saturday in Allentown. I just wanted to tell you that the Spirit was moving in that service and you were certainly used by the Lord that night. The woman next to me started to sob during the invitation to come forward. All I could do is put my arm around her and ask her if she wanted to go forward. When she refused to go up, I just held her as she cried. I don't know her or what she was dealing with but the Lord was really working with her that night! It made me want to remind you that you might never know just how much the Lord is using your testimony. Week after week I read your posts about people who came forward. There may be many more that the Lord is dealing with that you may never know about. Just remember that the next time Satan tries to stop you from giving your testimony! I truly believe that God is using you and your testimony mightily in many lives!
My husband and I really liked your new song that you sang last weekend and can't wait to hear your new recording when it is done. We are hoping to come down to see you again in Chambersburg on June 18th. Hopefully you will share some more songs from your new recording????
We are praying for you often!

I remember when I heard about what happened Dec 03 that I was so upset that I cried everyday for 2 months because of what you were going thru. I can remember laying my head down on the desk at work and crying my eyes out. I prayed that God's love would surround you and help you thru that horrible time in your life. That He would become more real to you than He ever had been before. I am so thankful for the people He sent into your life to shelter you.
I couldn't possibly know what to say to comfort you, although I wish I could have, no words seemed adequate...
I just want you to know that I love and care for you and that I will continue to remember you in my prayers.

CommentsI just read Mike's comments and I applaud him for his stand! I think this vendetta against Kirk goes way beyond "what sin is the worst sin." I believe SN is just using this issue to hurt Kirk anyway they can. I don't intend to cast stones at SN, but I do think people need to know the power they have and the ability they have to hurt artists. The same people run way too much of the gospel music industry - NQC, SN, SGMA - you see the same names over and over. THAT is where the problem is. It has become a "a good ole boys club" where if the "ins" don't like you you are OUT!
I love gospel music way too much to just sit back and be quiet. This music has made a tremendous difference in my life...Kirk's music in particular. I want to see the industry be what it should be - a vehicle to spread God's love and grace and INclude people not EXclude them.
I too have canceled my subscription to SN. I hope they change their ways, but if they don't I hope a new magazine with real Christian values will rise up and give them some powerful competition. Monopolies have never served this country well and this one certainly isn't serving gospel music well.
Keep singing Kirk. You have the victory!.

Hi Kirk!!!! Just wanted to say I love you and I'm praying for you. I met you many years ago at Calvary Temple Baptist in Thomasville, I sang in the trio with Marti and Jimmy. You are a precious child of God. So you did wrong? We all have. We have a loving, forgiving, and wonderful Savior. I'm still on your team!!!!!! May God Bless you as you continue your journey for Christ. Psalms 91:11. I would love to hear from you.

CommentsKirk,
Years ago my twin brother and I sang with a group called The Churchmen Qt. I remember when you first filled in for Connie Hopper while she was off the road for medical reasons. Wow, that was over 27 years ago. I left gospel music many years ago and have always regreted that move. I have read about your situation feel that you must go forward, be strong and dont look back. I am sure there are many groups on the road that talk a great deal of trash about you, but you know what, they dont drive the kirk Talley bus. Stay on the course you will be fine.

CommentsAfter reading comments on here, I went to the mailbox and found my June issue. It's a shame you weren't included in the memorial to George Younce. I don't understand why they wouldn't ask you to be a part of the tribute. So you've sinned---so have everyone else that was asked to voice their opinion of George.
Wouldn't it be interesting to see how everyone was treated if all the doors were opened and we could see everyone's secret faults. If Singing News was consistent in their treatment of sinners, they wouldn't have anyone to write about! But no, they single one sin out and continue to make themselves try to look like the spiritual giant publication of the Southern Gospel Industry. Guess what--It's not working! I am beginning to see them in a different way, a way that I don't like...so when my subscription runs out, I wont be renewing.
Hang in there Kapt Kirk, God's not finished with you yet, you don't really need the blessing of man, you keep trying to serve God and keep sharing your story. I agree with the other writer who said "God's bigger than Boone"

CommentsThis message is not for Kirk but for his fans (btw, we love you Kirk & Pray for you) Now for the fans who keep posting things about the Singing News: You get more flies with honey. Heap coals of kindness on the heads of your enemies. People have hurt Kirk but God will repay. Dont make comments about the Nat. Q. Conv. or Singing News Magazine. They still do much good. You cant throw the good out with the bad. In time, God will correct things if you do all things in love. Kirk seems to have a good attitude so please keep it up for him. You have to think of the non-saved people who might be reading this. More people are offended by bickering & complaining of Christians then what sin a Christian might commit.

CommentsMy dear brother Kirk,
My husband told me about your testimony some time ago, but I'm just now getting around to reading it. Somehow, we never heard all the gossip as you were being exposed. But somehow, when I heard that you were having some problems and had cancelled all engagements, I knew deep within my heart what you were struggling with (intuition is a gift God has given me), and my heart ached for you; I didn't know anything had been made public; I just knew you had to be hurting so very badly to just "drop out" of your successful ministry.
Now, as I read your testimony, I fight back the tears. I thank God for your courage and ask His forgiveness for not being very openly available to others who are suffering in silence, all alone. I also ask for His forgiveness and for His opening the eyes of those who have and maybe still are judging you. There is not one of us who can point a finger at anyone without three more fingers pointing back at ourselves. Please find it in your heart to forgive the self-righteous. None of us have anything to brag about; only through Jesus can we have any worth at all. And I dare say, we ALL have our secrets.
I made the mistake of trusting a "Christian" couselor without realizing his habit of openly telling personal details of his clients, naming no names, of course, but in our city's close-knit particular church affiliation, it was so easy to put 2 and 2 together and figure out who had which particular problems. I was devestated, and of course now I cannot find it possible to trust even a psychiatrist/counselor enough to receive adequate help. So I especially appreciate your courage.
Thank you for returning to your God-ordained ministry and not letting the devil defeat you. Thank you for not killing yourself (that in itself also gives me courage). Thank you for sharing those things that had to be so very difficult to tell anyone. Thank you for opening our eyes and hearts to minister to people who are silently suffering. You have always been a source of ministry to us - thank you for not giving up, but rather, return to your ministry - we need you.
I would appreciate confidentiality of my identity.
In love
Sharon

Personally, I've felt this way for about TWO years now! Some people are so self-righteous, judgemental, and all towards you, It makes me get upset too! You keep on for God, He will do His own judging of ALL of the people who has mistreated you in any way too. GBY- We LUV you, your Ministry, your Family and WE pray for you'all everyday too! Amen. We pray that we'll get to come to LIVE RECORDING at River Of Life, May 28 & 29th too, Oh yes, Me and my friend are Kirk's Krew Members, got our T-shirts, Buttons both to wear Sat. and Sun. too. CommentsKapt Kirk:
Looks like you got the shaft from the Singing News again. I see you were omitted from the former Cathedral members honor of George Younce. I also see where you were left out of the Joseph Habbedank article. I know you got him the job with the Perrys, got him on the Trio video, and boosted his career greatly. I didn't pay much attention when I heard they were not printing your name, but its evident now. And I wonder if anyone else noticed the "almost verbatum" account of the George Younce Funeral from your Kirks Krew E mail newsletter account and the account of the funeral on the Singing News webpage. I think they used your account (since it was so good and with complete detail), but of course you got no credit again.
I, for one am tired of the way you are being treated by the Sining News. They should get themselves some halos to wear around while they mingle with all the perfect singers in the business. My support for that magazine and anything they are associated with stops as of today. I wont go to National Quartet Convention again. I wont support the groups that seem to be so thick with them anymore. I am sick of the entire "business" of Gospel Music, just because of the way they have treated you. The Singing News should stick to reporting the news about those who sing Gospel Music instead of making rules regarding which sins are acceptable and which ones are not.
You keep going. God's bigger than that little bunch of pharisees in Boone! I am behind you 100% now.

CommentsKirk, I have to comment on Janie's concern. I get the feeling that many of your fans would like you to remain single in the name of gospel music. From the comments I have read, it seems like people think you should strive to be "Saint Kirk". You are a just a man who sings Southern Gospel music. I think you deserve a life outside of the scrutiny. What you do beyond that is your business. But You deserve to be happy. I hope you find a good man to walk along side you through life.

Then, at the close, when you invided those who were holding things inside ...to come forward... to see all the young people respond was simply beautiful.
Don't change anything...Keep on writing..keep on singing and most important, keep on sharing.
Thanks for not giving up.

CommentsKirk,
I just read your testimony, what an incredible testimony! How incredible it is to see God's love and mercy at work in such a tangible way. One of my favorite verses:
“ The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17.
Thank you for being "real". In my own ministry that's what I want people to see, that I'm a real person with real hurts and struggles and real blessings, too! That I'm no different, singing is just the "vehicle" God's given me to share His love. I'm praying for you!
Blessings!

Kirk Talley's songs are awesomely anointed! God is an awesome God! He has equipped Kirk to share that with the rest of us. It is an awesome thing to be intimate with God. I was also at the Maryville concert. Hearing Kirk's new songs made me appreciate who he is even more. They were very inspirational and heart felt. I'm looking forward to his new project. CommentsAWESOMELY ANNOINTED!!!!!!!!
He's back & the pen is in motion!!!
Saturday night I was blessed to be apart of the audience in Maryville, TN & hear Kirk debut 4 new songs that are going to be on his upcoming project. He has been for many years & continues to be my favorite song writer. The excitement was almost uncontainable as I listened to him do what God has called him to do & do it so very well. He sang the songs God has given him & blessed my soul (as well as all those in attendance)!!!
How many times have I set in the audience or in my car or at home (in the last 24+ years) & been so blessed by the message in Kirk Talley's writing? Far too many to count. In every aspect of my life (good or bad) I can find a Kirk song to identify with. Now after another rough struggle, another time of having people turn away from him he has found his voice once again thru writing of God's mercy.
Clappers, Nodders & Squirmers! If you're already thinking of a variety of Kirk songs with smile on your face you've probably been to one of his concerts. He started with a clapper - "I've Come Here To Tell You That The Lord Is Good" & I'm writing to tell you Amen & this one's a hit! He also sang "My, My, My" & "Lord I Worship You" & oh my what a good worship in the house. Then came the squirmer......."Intimacy With Jesus" What a powerful song! To really "know" Jesus & have a relationship with him on a personal & intimate level. I couldn't hold back the tears & my hands raised instintively in worship as he continued singing!
Thank you Kirk for sharing the talent God has givin you!!! Thank you Heavenly Father for Your wonderful hand of mercy & blessing on my friend Kirk! Continue to use him for Your Glory Lord!
Fans & whoever else may read this...don't miss your opportunity to be a part of a wonderful experience in the ministry of Kirk Talley the last weekend of this month in Smyrna TN. The live taping of his upcoming project is going to be awesome! Let's spend the memorial day weekend in God's blessings remembering all His mercy He's extended to us all & worship together.
I'll be there (Lord willing) will you?

I know that as long your faith and trust are in God then He will be with you and daily guide you. Your testimony was awesome. Tho at one time you wanted to die it's plain to see that God ain't finished using you yet. He still has plans for you. Even tho there are probably alot of folks that have turned their back on you I personally hope that soon you'll be back in Memphis again doing another concert . I pray that God will continue to use you in a way that will bring glory and honor to Him. Stay strong in the faith.

CommentsKirk, I've have grown up listening to Southern Gospel Music and have longed to one day travel and sing. That has always been my hearts desire. I was so sad when I heard about your struggles and that you were so alone in all those struggles. For so called Christians to just put you down and throw you to the way side is so wrong. We as Christians should lift each other up to God each and every day. God is so mighty and his love and grace are so overwhelming. You are in my prayers. Keep the faith and your life and heart in God's hands. I hope to see you soon.

I just ran on to your website and testimony while looking for news about George's passing.
I just wanted you to know that I have been praying for you for the past few weeks. I heard Phil Cross mention you on the Gospel Greats, and it hurt me to think about you hurting.
Kirk, I just want you to know (you probably already know it) that THERE IS DELIVERANCE! I have never been tempted in the way that many others are, I recognize. But I do know what it is, in this modern age, to struggle with inner feelings and the oppression of the devil. And I have known people who have not only been tempted, but have been living an immoral life, to be completely delivered from faith in God. Just keep praying and holding on. I will be praying for you more than I have been. Please hold on!
I am not omniscient, and I do not know all the details of the people who are helping you. I don't want to criticize anything that is the working of God, but please do be sure that it is Biblical.
But Kirk, can I please say that I do not believe God wants his children to struggle with desires daily?
I don't want to lay down any dogmas. If you have the time, though, please go over Galatians and see if you feel it backs up the idea of total deliverance--the idea that God can CRUCIFY, totally kill, all desires.
Please believe that I have said all this with the right motive. If anything I've said is hurtful, I am sincerely sorry. I want to meet you and George in heaven someday!

CommentsWhere's the pictures? I drove from Little Rock, AR to bring my daughter to your concert at Northside Baptist in Neosho, MO. Words escape me for such a blessing we received. However, I can't find the pictures that you said were posted for your two concerts on that day. Boy did I empty my wallet for my daughter who hads MS. we are still waiting for info on Noni juice WHAT A GLOIOUS NIGHT WE HAD. You were so kind to take time for us at the product table. Anytime you are in driving distance, I will be there. We are hopeful that you can be at our church soon. IT IS SUCH BLESSING TO HAVE YOU BACK SINGING ABOUT OUR LORD AND SAVIOR. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. Oh, by the way, my daughter and I wear our "Kirks Krew" buttons everywhere we go. Keep posting those letters with all the good places to eat. AND, dont forget I can cook you some really good.............................Chicken and dumplings and Fried Chicken (country style) Now, seriously, I want to say, what a blessed time we had at Neosho, Mo. It was so evident that you were singing for the Lord and just how much you love HIM. I pray that each and everyone who see's you will come away knowing that the Lord has you just where he wants you to be, "singing and witnessing for HIM'. Your testimony was so "moving" and sincere. There is no doubt that the Spirit was in the church that night. I have never judged you and never will. You will continue to be our all time favorite singer and Christian .Not one person is perfect. Jesus is the ONLY one who is perfect. You are Gods
child and always will be. God helps us to overcome many obsticals in life. We all have them and HE wants us to call on him. We pray for you every day that God will cintinue to bless you. I also pray for your Mother. Wish her well for me. Just remember, WE SERVE A LIVING GOD God Bless You and Keep HIS Loving Arms Around You. Yours in Christ. Wilma Thomas, (Kirks Krew member)

CommentsI have been reading some comments on your page, Honestly I can't believe people are so stupid to think that talking to a minister from Jimmy Swaggart's organization can take away your troubles. One would have thought that if it were that easy, Swaggart himself wouldn't have messed up the second time. When will these people see that EVERYONE struggles with something and we all take it one day at a time? I can see you put up with a lot of people who can't read your testimony and understand it. I appreciate your honesty when you say you still struggle daily. WE ALL DO! The nuts that comment and think you are "healed"---just amazing. Keep going Kirk, I am a fan and will always be.

CommentsKirk,
I just read your testimony and it made me cry. To think that people who love you can turn on you so easily is just heartbreaking. I met you when you were touring with The Hopper Brothers and Connie, the last time I actually spoke with you I was going through a divorce and was pregnant, but God saw me through and somehow has brought me back to hear your wonderful voice again. I became a Krew Member and just received my first CD. I am a true believer that if you love someone you accept them for the person they are. Our heavenly father loves us unconditionally and I'm so sorry that you had to go through that alone. I found out last year that I have Lupus and Fibro Maylagia, I am in constant pain but I know that I will see my family again (my parents and grandparents have all passed away). I tell my daughter that when things go wrong to pray and God will provide. I have been praying for you and for my children who seem to have lost their way. Please pray for them also. I just wanted to let you know that I am here if you ever need a friendly ear, I plan on attending your service in Woodbridge this month and am looking forward to hearing you sing again. I still have the album (remember those?) that you let me have when I was 15, I recorded it to a cassette tape and play it when I go on long trips and sing my heart out with you. My grandfather was in a quartet and sang in his church, I was in a youth choir and sing whenever I get the chance. I look forward to your e-mails and find your sense of humor refreshing. Don't stop believeing in yourself and trust that God loves you no matter what. If people don't understand temptation and respect that you are a human being as well, then you don't need them in your life. Maybe your sister will come around someday, I'll pray for that. Just know I'm thinking of you and praying for you daily.
Love,
Patricia Poe

CommentsDear Kirk, I read your email with pleasure and find nothing in them that is insulting and I am amazed that others find fault with them. A sense of humor is a wonderful thing to have in our time. My mother and I have supported you in your recent experiences and think that your honest approach is commendable. I am not sure that I would have been so frank, since I believe that there are some things in life that are no one else's business. I want to share a line of an article that my aunt wrote (it was not about you or your situation) that every one should think about. EACH CHILD OF GOD HAS A UNIQUENESS THAT ADDS TO THE EVER CHANGING PATTERNS OF LIFE. I think that people who find fault with you and your situation, comments, sense of humor, etc are letting fear guide their life and not God. Please continue to let your God given talent and voice bless us all.

CommentsDear Kirk,
I read you testimony. This is no way for deliverance to come in this mess.
You are being deceived! For the love of God, stop this nonsense and find
true freedom in repentence and resting in the accomplished work of Christ on
the Cross. You are getting into new age nonsense here. There is help and
hope...through the shed blood of Christ Jesus.
In His Love,
Janet Pursel

Love you, Kirk. I will continue praying for you as I have all the way through. Praise the Lord for His blessings to you & through you. I know I was blessed Sunday!

CommentsDear Brother in Christ:
I have listened to your music and love it and have shared your songs in my church,Newport Pentecostal. I have read you testimony and my heart is holding you close and my prayers are yours. You have made great stride in just acknowledging your situtation and Praise Jesus, that is all He asked...admit and He is there to help you. Your song The Word is Mercy is just what He is giving you and His love for you is unending. Such Grace and Mercy for we humans. Thank His name that He too was humane and knows the bondages we can have,But, Oh,His love that He gives so freely will take you through this and into a brighter day.
God bless you and keep you in His loving arms.

CommentsKirk, I came to your concert Sunday, at
Regency Park Nazarene, Tulsa, Ok. I had never seen you in person, but had listened to your tapes for many years. You will be THE STAR of Gospel Music I shall be praying for you daily. There is therefore now NO CONDEMNATION for those who're in Christ Jesus. HE PAID IT ALL!! Your're free in Him. He just wants us to confess our sins (which you've done) If every christian would just be as honest and repent, (as you have) how much it would please the heart of our Heavenly Father. May God bless you exceedingly and abundantly above all you may ask or think in every aspect of your life here on Earth, until HE COMES for us. I personally believe His coming is very near. Love in Christ, Your Sister in Him. Sulene Craven

CommentsThank you Kirk for a wonderful evening, Friday, April 29th at Calvary Baptist Church in Hazel Park, MI. We really enjoyed your choice of songs & your voice. Thank you for singing "Serenaded By Angels." It brought a few tears, but I knew it would since I just lost my 100 year old Daddy on April 23rd. I'll see him again someday in Heaven.
I think the Lord has changed your ministry from entertaining Christian people, to healing Christians & non-Christians alike. Continue to follow His leading, day by day, & you'll find joy like you've never known before. I'm going to be praying that the Lord will open doors for your ministry like they've never been opened before. I'm also going to pray for those blind fools who have turned their backs on you at a time in your life when you need them the most. I pray that the Lord will use you to start a real revival in this country that will spread like wildfire. God bless you as you continue to do His will.
Thank you again for a wonderful evening.

Comments(Please Don't show email address) Hi Kirk, Just a quick note to say we're still praying for you, looking foward to your New Live Recording In Smyrna,TN at River of Life Church too. Praise God for Pastor's like Bro. Johnny Minnick and others that ask you to come and give your testimony at their Churches. We LUV you and all that you are doing for our Lord, Amen. As we always say to you and other's KEEP on putting God First as you are and He will always be with you. "Lo, I am with you always till the end of the earth" In my life these days I have had to repeat this verse and more too, for My Mom is slowly leaving our family, but we 'really' placed her back in His care about two-years ago. So I know He will never leave Me nor forsake me too, or our family either. He is just a prayer away too. Remember this as We are today, God bless you with Christ is our prayers for you, Your friends and supporters in the deep south. I have some KirksKrew Buttons too, but I still can't get your Newsletters? Please tell your folks hello for me too. GBY- Mary, in South
