CommentsKirk,
I first saw you in concert when you were with the Chuck Wagon Gang in Guin, AL. I followed your career as close as I could and have seen you in concern several dozen times over the years. I know you see millions of people a year, but you have always made me feel like you were singing just for me. I consider you one of the most special people I have ever known and I am proud to call you my friend. I will see you again Nov 1 in Boaz, AL. My wife and kids are already excited about seeing you again. God bless you and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

CommentsAfter seeing you sing Sunday morning in Pascagoula, my wife and I decided to go hear you again Sunday night.
After the Sunday night service, we both agreed that you are so much more than what the typical Southern Gospel artist is. You are the real deal. You aren't afraid to be honest. Thank you for that. You made a lot of new friends this past weekend. Hope we can go on the cruise with you.

CommentsDear Kirk,
I really did not want to write this comment, but I just keep being drawn back to your website after hearing you this past Sunday morning in Pascagoula, MS at the 8:30 am service at Church on the Rock. I have been a fan for a long time, and didn't really know where you have been, but thank the Lord I came to the service Sunday. I guess I needed reminding that God remembers my prayers for my son who is so far from "home" (my home and God), and also that I need not judge him, but love him back to the fold. I wish I could have remained for the whole service, but I had obligations at my own church. Thank you for your heart of ministry. One last thing, the song you wrote so many years ago "Past Your Past" is one of my favorites. I am glad it is now on soundtrack so that I can now sing it.
Thank you and God bless you.

CommentsGreetings in Grace:
Kirk, I have heard of your struggles and how God's Grace has carried you through your journey from pain to gain. Michael English has experienced deep pain and rejection for his struggles, though different in manifestation, never the less painful. I have heard both of you speak of you "discovered God's Grace" and now it is the motivation for you to open up and reach out to others.
I have struggled with the same "thorn of the flesh" as you have and in recent years finally somewhat grasped God's Grace. Though i will probably always struggle with this issue though the intensity varies from time. I have determined to not stopped but to keep on going serving the Lord and fulfilling the ministry He has placed me in and enabled me to finish my course.
You and Michael English have both spoken on God's grace and has always reinforced my confidence in that Grace that saves, seals and delivers us safely into the presence of God after our life is over here.
Once thing that has been difficult is not to allow others to determine my "spirituality" and especially that I should get out of the ministry. Though it is hard sometimes I find support in Paul's words "the gifts and callings of God are without repentance"-why? Because He knew our frailties and inner turmoil-continous struggles with the sin nature- yet HE called us to serve Him. Remember He became Man-not that we could become God! Remember what we do is not necessarily who we are! I find great comfort in two verses- "Ye are accepted(Greek literally is "graced") in the Beloved" (Eph 1:6) and "ye are complete in Him (Col. 2:10) Did you get that Kirk? YOU ARE (present tense) COMPLETE (means not lacking anything- or nothing more to do) in Him! These two verses have helped me through the struggle(s) i have encountered.
Praying for your contenuance in the ministry of Grace Singing! Remember Paul says "we are saved by grace"(Eph. 2:5) and "For by grace are ye being saved (Greek). In Galatians 3 Paul, the Apostle of Grace, states that our daily sanctification is ALSO BY FAITH! We don't do anything to get saved (other than believe in the Gospel 1 Cor. 14:1-5) and so IT IS with our daily sanctification! We are sanctified by faith NOT WORKS! That is hard to intake when we have been programed to "earn our right to be accepted" our entire lives.
In closing, remember that "who can condemn us? IT IS CHRIST WHO JUSTIFIES US"!
Growing in Grace,
Pastor David Carden

You are such and inspiration and a blessing to me. I have listened to you and your music since you were a part of The Talley's. Roger, Debra, and you made beautiful music together. It would be really nice to hear the 3 of you together again (actually the 4 of you if you include Lauren). Anyway, keep up your wonderful singing. God has really given you a talent. I will continue to be in prayer for your health.
I feel honored to call you my friend
