We have enjoyed your music for many years. My wife and I sang "He Is Here" and "Triumphantly the Church Will Rise" with choirs I directed for several years. I am sorry for the hurt you have endured at the hands of those who should exemplify God's grace and mercy. Thank God He is still faithful. Best to you.

Dear Kirk, I was so touched by your testimony. If I can understand and love you and pray for you, anyone should be able to. I have been blessed so by your ministry and I know how satan, the devourer, would like to see you defeated and destroyed. My precious husband, Raymond, and I, sang and ministered for over 23 years together. He was the most awesome and talented man I ever knew. After 23 years of marriage, I found out he was leading a double life and had to divorce him. We still remained friends until he died 9 years later with AIDS. I went to Florida and picked him up, brought him to Tennessee and he died 3 days later. He was the most wonderful person in the world and he let satan destroy his life. I know who is responsible for your struggles and I also know who is the winner. You, through Christ, will win this battle. My three daughters sung "Serenated by Angels" at Raymond's funeral and it ministered to many there...I have no idea, as you do not, how many people have come to the Lord with this song. They have sung it many times at funerals and singings and every time someone receives a special touch from God. I also almost died in Feb., 2004, with cancer and for 7 months I fought for my life...I am now cancer free and hoping to minister again. I had my vocal chord paralyzed in spinal surgery and then my voice was effected by chemo and it has been very difficult to sing again so, you see, we all have an attack in some way. I struggle on a daily basis with what Raymond did to me and my family but, I know where it came from and I loved him until the day he died. He did come back to God and my girls and I were with him when he died. I know what a good person he was and that God loved him, as I did, no matter what he did. You are one of the most tallented, wonderful men I have ever seen. While I was so ill, I watched you sing on the Gaither videos, even in the hospital in Nashville for six weeks, they brought in a vcr and I watched you then. I know God used you to minister to me and I am so gratefu GOD BLESS YOU. Love in Christ, Becky Freeman

Kirk I truly admire your honesty in dealing with the struggles that you have had present in your life. I just want you to know that I as well have had some extremely difficult struggles only I was married to a preacher who thought that abuse was more important in his ministry. I am divorced now and trying to live my life on a day to day basis. I really do enjoy your song Serenaded By Angels- this song has touched my life in so many ways that I just cannot even begin to tell you. I cry everytime I hear it- I have yet to purchase a CD but definitely would like to get one. Kirk, please stay true to Christ and love Him with all your heart and just sing from your heart. I have played the piano for many years and was born with an ear for music so I can play just about anything that I hear but I really do like to hear you sing the Serenaded By Angels yourself! I pray that you will continue to allow others to be blessed by your willingness to be honest and minister to others who are hurting as well. Because of Calvary Nancy Bruce

I first met Kirk Talley in Searcy, Arkansas while he was with The Cathedrals. I had just checked out of the hospital with wires and a heart moniter still attached to me. When I walked out of the hospital I saw their bus parked across the street and I went over to talk to the Quartet. The first one to open the door was Kirk. They invited me inside the bus and in five miniutes, George, Kirk, Glenn, Roger, and Mark had gathered around me, joined hands and we had Campmeeting right there inside the bus. It was an experiance that I have never forgotten. That night as I sat in the crowd the Cathedrals sang their hearts out, Romans 8:28, God Delivers Again, Evergreen, and then Kirk dedicated a song to me titled, Seeking for Me. What a song, what a singer. Kirk Talley. My life has never been the same, Praise The Name of The Lord Jesus Christ. God bless you my friend as you work for our Lord. Yours in Christ, Rev. Larue O. Prescott

Kirk, I sent an email but realize you may not get it so I just want to say that in the very early hours of this morning you ministered to a missionary couple serving in Western Europe. We can only get gospel music online through our computer and this morning we woke up to you singing: I KNOW A MAN WHO CAN. You've given me hope for the day and for tomorrow. Please know that your ministry is so important to God. We continue to pray for you regarding all of your needs

Kirk, Even though I've emailed you, I wanted to post my own testimony here. I admire you for continuing to fight the good fight of faith. People like Don who posted a Guestbook entry on Nov. 11th suggest giving up. Some may choose to give up, but as believers, we know we can't, or Satan will win the battle. This is my first personal testimony. I've been in the ministry about 25 years with a conservative Christian group. My battle began at about six or seven years old when I was molested and sodomized by a wealthy prominent man in our church. As I grew up, I began to become confused with my Same Sex Attractions, because I knew they were not "normal". The problem worsened while in Bible College (of all places) when I became involved with a group of guys in the dorm who were involved in homosexual activity. I left that college, feeling torn apart. Then as I went to another "Christian college", a professor made advances at me. I knew that God had called me to the ministry, but I couldn't understand why I kept getting into these situations and having feelings which led to actions that are referrred to as an abomination in scriptures. I tried other religions for a period of time and when I did that, local congregations of the religion I grew up in marked me as a "heretic" for "leaving the faith" incorrectly believing that their sect was the only way to salvation. They had no idea that my searching was because of the immoral situations that continued to be thrown at me within the context of the church. I met a sweet, loving and compassionate Christian girl, and we married. Even though the SSA was still there, I was faithful to my newlywed bride, as I loved her, knew that was the right thing and what God intended. She knows of my challenges and loves me anyway. We've been married almost 25 years and have two children. The challenge of the SSA is still there and seems it may be that way the rest of my life, but I refuse to give up and give in to the devil. I like what you said in your testimony that "this is a process. A journey that I am walking through." You described it perfectly. Yes, it's a tremendous challenge and burden, but as a minister, I believe it helped me to be compassionate and less judgmental of people. May all believers who struggle with this continue to fight the good fight of faith...and, in the words of Winston Churchill: "never, never, never give up".

Hello Kirk! My heart has been heavy for you ever since I heard recently of your struggles with same sex issues. I had not heard about it until an email from James Robison's ministry. I'm sorry for all the hypocrisy starting from your family on down the line of christians who were unable to deal with a sin that Christ died for just like He died for their sins of pride, holier than thou mentality, and a host of other sins they themselves are guilty of. Had someone listened to you and offered love and healing from the very onset of your dilemma, God's name and servant would not have had to be dragged through the mud and media. But instead, christianity has chosen ONCE AGAIN to give its ownself ANOTHER BLACK EYE in a world that delights in the failures of christians. I cringe at the way we christians treat one another! We are the ones bringing reproach upon this nation because we have not been the salt and light Christ called us to be. From the reaction of the "christian scene" I suppose it's much better to continue to walk into our churches week after week after indulging in web-porn all week, adultery in our hearts, hiding behind our lies, etc. because THAT'S ALL HIDDEN and nobody sees it! WELL...GOD sees the filth and it will be judged! Kirk, I have several gay friends, two of whom I will be attending a Christmas contata with in a week or so. I don't love their sin but I love their hearts! They have such gracious hearts and put most christians I know to shame. I pray for their salvation. I pray they see Christ in me! I know God has a wonderful plan for you and have no doubt you are one of His children...my brother in Christ!!! Your struggle is no different than one who lusts for sex with someone other than their spouse, or battles with desire for alcohol, or drug addiction, or gossips, or get this...a glutton!!! Look how the church has embraced this sin!!! Prov. 23:20-21 puts a glutton in the same verse with a drunkard! Kirk, sin is sin and all of it put our precious Savior on the Cross. I'm just so sorry f

I have never heard of you before, Kirk, but was sent your interview transcript by a family member. I've had these same SSA for 30+ years. I'm 14 years married with 3 small children and after telling her, I came home from work Sept. 20 to find everything in my home gone and my children gone. So not only do I have the continued struggle with my SSA, my family is gone to leave me to try to recover on my own. I'm a born again Christian from a very conservative background. Your testimony was a great encouragment to me as I cried reading it. I wish I had other Christian guys to talk to/email who have this same struggle, but I've not found any except reading some on your guestbook posting. At this point, I've called around to some counselors but found nothing yet, but still struggle with wanting to change. It has such a strong grip on me. All I can say is wives, don't give up on your husbands so quickly. Even if he seems like he doesn't want to change, fight for him even if he won't. That's a hard proposition for a wife who has just been told a husband's life-long secret as you feel betrayed and hurt by what he's done to you and your family, but it may be his only chance of surviving this struggle. He may never recover left to himself. You have a powerful key nobody else (besides God) has. The road to recovery for me looks pretty grim. I'm not sure if this is allowed, but if there is any other guys out there that can share any help or solutions with me I'd be glad for the email (bondtk@netzero.com). May God continue to bless you, Kirk, and your struggle. You're an inspiration in sharing your story with us!
