I saw you sing a few weeks ago. I have waited for a while to write but I wanted to tell you what a difference you made in my way of thinking. I heard your story and it made me regret some of the ways that I have treated someone I work with. I am afraid I have not been very Christ like with him, as I have dodged him, ignored him and talked bad about him because he is obviously gay. I never realized that he could easily have been looking for an example of Christianity out of me, and I am afraid he probably didn't see it. Thank you for saying "people gravitate to where they are accepted". By that token, I am afraid I have not been an invitation to Christ by my example. You are making a difference in people's lives. Don't listen to the criticism. You have many many people who love you. Keep up the good work.

Dear Kirk...Thanks so much for sharing your testimony. There are so many hurting people out there. Bondages, opression, depression etc., and they feel like no one will understand or more than that even care. I too have been going through something for quite sometime and I have been on the "I want to just die" cycle more than once but I'm praying that however God chooses my "complete" deliverance will come. God bless you and you have blessed me with your testimony and music. As a matter of fact Serenaded By Angels is still in my CD Player!

Praise God for you, the gift that you have been given, and your obedience to the Holy Spirit. I just heard your song "Holy Spirit Fall On THis Place" on the Mary and Dean show/TBN. I guess it was about 6:15 am. The song immediately connected with my spirit, or shall I say the Holy SPirit within me. It is indeed so powerful and anointed and straight from the Throne of God. I quickly sribbled the words to the chorus as you and Dean were singing because I knew that it was indeed a "Master" piece". By 6.25 i was on line trying to find you and the lyrics. Your name was covered by the captiones on the TV. But God!..as we say..He told me exactly how to google you so that everything that came up in the search was about you and the song. I am blessed and favored to serve as a worship leader in my church and know that I have been called to do Kingdom work. This song is now a part of my personal worship and it will be shared with His people as soon as He opens the window, door opportunity for me to do so. Blessings and Peace to you. May your gift be stirred even more. Your Sister in Christ and Fellow Worshipper

Kirk- Lois, Sarah, Samuel and myself all had a great time last evening in Cincy for your concert. It was great visiting with you before church and catching up. 3 days and we are on the air! Hey- and wasn't it a nice surprise to see the Collingworths there. I just laughed when the Pastor said she sounded like a 1000 lb man beating on the piano-heard her many times-just not a solo like that on the piano-mercy! God Bless you all. Bryan

Kirk, The World Premiere Concert was great but, Tuesday evening was the best. God's presence and sweet spirit was surely in the place. Your songs are always anointed and being the artist that writes and sings.. God has given you so much tallent. Just keep up the Wonderful Work for God. The duet with Allison Durham Speer was great and such blessing to me. "I Rather Have Jesus" yes that sums it all. Allison did great with her solos as she is a very high soprano artist and she just opens that mouth wide and makes it look so easy. Both just keep singing and always look to God for leadership. With prayers, Vivian

I was in Pigeon Forge all three days for the GMT concerts. BY FAR, you were the best thing there. The duet you did with Allison was incredible. It seemed to me that many of the groups just yelled and screamed and tried to get the audience up on their feet on their last song, but your presentation was totally different. My husband commented "He didn't seem to try to get a standing ovation, but he had three" You are a powerful anointed singer with better songs than most artists. It's a shame that some people are closed minded and think they have a right to judge! You keep singing. Oh by the way, We have gone to our last Crystal River concert because of how they have treated you!

Kirk, you are going to get through all of this. My family and I have always enjoyed your remarkable tenor voice. What a joy it was to see you preform with, THE TRIO, Anthony and Ivan and with THE CATHERDAL's. What a joy it had to be for you, preforming with all the GREATS, that now have gone on to be with our Lord and Savor. What a loss it was to loose Anthony Burger at such a young age. Kirk you wrote a song years ago titled "LEARNING HOW TO LIVE AGAIN". You go back to the words of that song and say to your self, I'm going to over come it all. God Bless you Kirk, you keep going and singing for our Lord. My family and I are praying for you. GOD BLESS YOU, Sandra Zavota

I just want to thank you for taking the time to come to South Flint Nazarene on Aug 13. It was truly a blessing to see and hear you for the first time in person. I also enjoyed the fellowship afterwards. We will never forget your RED face when the waitress brought you your birthday cake and was sung to. My son, Justin, thinks you are a pretty cool dude! (that came from his own mouth-6 yrs old) May God continue to bless you and you minister to those around you. I'm looking forward to see you again in the future! Kirk, I'm an 85 year old man, and have been saved for 50 years, and never broken with the Lord. You have been an inspiration to my family since seeing you at Mount Vernon Nazarene University a couple year ago. I believe you are God's man, who loves Him with an infinite love that surpasses any interest you might have on earth including your ministry in music. Kirk, You may never remeber me, but I sang with the Calvarymen in the 80's. I was a tenor also. I always enjoyed hearing you and your family sing. You and Roger and I and members of the Calvarymen always had fun when you guiys came through Flint, MI. I just read your testimony for the first time today. Powerful my friend. Know that you are continually in my prayers. I Pastor a very small church in Northern Michigan now. If you ever want a place to sing, I would be honored to have you in my church.

have been to numerous concerts where you appeared and I have always enjoyed your segment very much. I must admit that I "heard" that you had "come out" and I was so disappointed and hurt. I am thankful that I found your website and read your testimony because now I know that your problems are something that you are fighting and not giving in to. My stepson has admitted that he is gay and my husband and I have such a difficult time, we love him but not his choice of lifestyle. It is very difficult to always know what to say or not say and our Pastor has a wonderful saying that has helped us tremendously. On numerous occasions he has stated from the pulpit "Love the sinner, not the sin" and that is something all of us need to remember. If God can love the sinner which is each and every one of us, then we certainly should be able to try to love one another what ever our short comings and problems may be. Thank you for making a public testimony for your fans that really do care for you and your Spiritual well being. God Bless You!!!!

I saw you with The Talley Trio a long time ago in Valdese, NC. You all were really wonderful and I still love the song "In the Fire" and many others. Your group The Cathedrals are another favorite of mine. It is so sad that George and Glen are gone from here but I feel I know where they are. I will pray for your struggles of which I didn't know until I read your bio. God is always with us and I forget that sometimes myself. We all have different struggles and I know the search for answers is a painful journey. Since 1990 I have suffered from severe depression. Finallly, the Lord sent me to a professional that finally diagnose me as Bi-Polar. The wrong meds for a long, long time. I praise God that you have touched my life in a profound way and that was God's intention. May he always bless you and keep you! In His Name, Debbie

dear brother kirk, i read your testimony and i would first like to say "Thank God, for his precious Holy Spirit and His forgivness thru His loving and Most Holy Son, Jesus Christ!" you sang a song, not sure if you wrote it, called God has a different plan, that song has ministered to me so many times. i have a 24 year old son who has been in and out of jail or prison since he was 18 and has now given his life to the Lord. no truer words have been spoken. the songs you have written and sang have meant so much to so many dont ever let anyone minimize your work for the Lord. Your testimony is one of the most heart felt i think i've ever heard. lately i have been battleing with the fact that "Christians" seem to have a problem acting like "Christians". i dont understand why the gospel music association would want to "black-ball" you! Where did Christ ever say "Your sin is too great, i cant forgive you and you can no longer work for me?" i dont remember reading that anywhere! so does this mean that they cannt sing your songs anymore? i just dont understand! i guess we should pray for them that God will have mercy on them until they find the true love of Christ. Brother Kirk, my prayers will be with you and you will always be welcome anywhere i worship! sincerly in Christ mrs. paula stevens

May God be with you at this time. I do know what Prayer can do. As a cancer (Breast cancer) survivor of 5 years this Oct. - I know the overwhelming feeling when you wake up in the morning and know you will not be sick -- and will have a surgery and get thru it. It's totally unexplainable to others -- I hope everyone will someday have a true answer to prayer -- to know the feeling of knowing God is truly present in their lives. He is there for our needs. May God bless you and keep you singing. Tam

I have just read your biography and testimony on the Internet. I had just heard "bits and pieces" of what had happened to you but didn't have a computer to do any research. Now I understand and admire your courage for overcoming this demon and exalting our precious Lord. My own son was living in Florida a few years ago. He called and wanted to come home. When he got here, he confessed to me that he was gay. I could not believe it. He had been raised in a christian home and knew what God's word said about that. He said he was sorry but couldn't help the way he felt. After reading your testimony, I can understand so much more now about where he was coming from. He also had to tell me he was infected with the HIV virus. I told him he was still my son and I loved him. I told him I'd do all I could to help him. Over the next year, I took him to doctor appointments and made him as comfortable as I could at home. I made sure he did everything the doctor's told him to do and made sure he took his meds every day as prescribed. That was a little over five years ago. Thank God he is still here and so far is responding well to the medications. He has since moved in with his "friend" despite my pleading and objection. I told my son I'd help him get his own apartment, help him with the bills for the first few months until he got settled and on a budget. I even offered to give him my car since I was planning to buy another one soon. His "friend" meant more than anything else, I suppose. I am still praying for him and maybe one day the scales will fall from his eyes and he will repent and turn to God. He tried to tell me a couple of years ago that he was "saved." I'm ashamed to admit it but I told him he couldn't be both - a homosexual and saved, too. How wrong I was!! Thank you so much for helping me understand that this is, indeed, possible. God bless you, Kirk. "Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you." I will pray to see you on TBN and a current Gaither Program one of these days. Your so

I listened to your testimony on the way home and tears were shed, God will use you through all of this in a mighty way. I have begun to pray for you. When I read the devotion today out of the devotional we purchased at your concert yesterday, it was good to know that you were probably reading the same thing. Isn't God wonderful. He provided just the right devotion for the concert on August 3rd. I thank God for your church and your friends who have supported you through the fire. You are a wonderful person

Kirk, I enjoy reading your newsletters, I love hearing about your concerns, and sometimes your everyday life, My prayers are always with you. I know you dont remember me because I wrote you several years ago just before your story hit the headlines, I asked you for the CD Sernaded By Angels for my Mother, I told you that she had a copy but something happen to it, you were going to send me a copy, but all broke loose, anyways mama's copy showed up, My Mama is now dying, and she asks for Sernaned to be played over and over again . We might not be able to talk to her or her to us but when that song plays the spirit fills the room and she does understand and begins to speak in tongues, before she became incoherant she told us that Sernaded by Angels, No Grave gonna hold this body down are to be played at her graveside, we have sernaded by angels we are looking for Aint No Grave, and then her last wishes will be complete.. May God Bless You, in your ministery.. Theresa Di

Hey Kirk, It was great to see you again. Thanks for remembering who we are. You will always be special to me. When you were talking about grace I came within a hair of standing to my feet and telling everyone that's how I felt about you. When there was noone else you were there. If I had known at the time what you were facing I may have done things differently. All I can say now is I'm sorry I added to your pain with all of mine. You are an overcomer and you are anointed to minister for God's good pleasure. Thank You for not giving up. In Christ, Rebecca
