Kirk, Thank you for your testimony. It was heartwarming and sincere. I have enjoyed your music for many years and I know that your struggle was hard, but keep up the good work in your music and faith in our Lord. His forgiveness is all you need. I look forward to seeing you in concert soon.

Kirk, I have listened to your music since I was a child. I remember the first album I had of yours. I sang "Hallelujah Square" a million times with you. And then, as you sang with the Catrhedrals and The Talleys, my family and I would venture many places across the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia to hear you sing. We even came to your hometown Christmas gathering back in the mid 80's. Kirk, the message that you sing in your songs has carried with me all of my life. As a matter of fact, listening tonight to "I Know a Man Who Can" and "Hallelujah Square" led me to your website to see what you are doing. Keep up the Lord's work. His plan is a perfect plan. Satan likes for us to deviate from that plan. He takes joy in seeing us fall and suffer. Just remember, sin has been defeated. Grace and love will always prevail!!! I love you, buddy! Kirk, I just wanted to let you know that I will be praying for you! Thank you for being so honest in your testimony! I know that it's very hard to do but it shows that you have a heart after God and that you want to be poured out for people! Just remember that God is our only judge and if the King likes you, it doesn't matter who dislikes you! I hope to see you soon in Ironton,OH or Huntington, WV!

You know, we all struggle with something. God is good and He is in control. While at Lee College 17 years ago, I attended one of the Talleys concert (You performed at Conn Center). I've told people all these years that you all were so anointed. Nothing has changed. God uses willing vessels that He cleans--we have to trust Him will ALL our life. Keep up the good work!

Dear Kirk: Sending a message like this is so rare for me to do, but I just wanted to send a note of encouragement to you. I have seen you in Sumter, SC a couple of times, and have listened to your music for years. Your songs take me to a place of worship that I often do not find anywhere else. Keep making your music, knowing that it finds its way into hearts of hurting people like me, and we are able to feel closer to our Father

Kirk, I thought of you today. I was coming home from Memphis and was listening to your "Net Breakin" CD. I have been known to sing several of your songs in my own church, Open Door Community Church in NLR. You will always be part of our family and God will ALWAYS Love You. We live in a very condeming and judgemental world of s called christians. News Flash, GOD is our only judge, NOT man. Do not let their views and interpretation of God's laws cloud who you are and what you believe. There are too many christians doing that already. We love you and will always love you. Good luck in your ministry.

Your ministry reminds me of a verse I keep posted and read almost daily. 2 Cor. 12:15 - "And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved." You have faced much opposition in your ministry and although it may seem so many are against you and no one cares, just remember you are loved. Your ministry is so very important. I believe ours is an issue that needs to be discussed rather than hidden, so that we can learn how to fight these battles as with any other sin. You are an inspiration. Keep on keepin' on. We also share something in common- I to love the song "the Love of God" another verse I keep posted to read is Romans 8: 38-39 "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, [39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Hi Kirk! Krew member from Sikeston, Missouri checking in. I hate that I didn't get to see you at East Cape, but I'm glad you got to stop by Lambert's and partake of all that good food! Did you notice their favorite Scripture on the wall? Zecheriah 5:1, "Then I turned and lifted up my eyes, and looked, and behold, a flying roll." Hope you caught one of those flying rolls, as they're awful good! I declare son, you love restaurants more than anybody I've ever seen! By the time we get to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, you'll be too full to eat anything! All the best, Debra

Kirk, thanks for sharing your story. I have always admired your talent and still do. Although my own struggle is different than yours, it has cost me contact with some members of my family and forced me from my church. I have just about lost faith in the Christian community because of its 'love'. I find more compassion from those outside. I have so much I want and need to share as I try to heal. I'm sure you are covered in e-mails like this. Please excuse me for cutting this short, but work calls. I will type again for no other reason than to help myself. Thanks again for your testimony - Tim.

Hi Kirk, I was at your concert in South Fulton last Saturday night. I really enjoyed it. You have always been one of my favorite singers. God has given you such a wonderful voice. Our music director said that if you were in our area anytime we we would like to have you do a concert in our church. It is First Baptist Church in Union City, Tn. If you are going to be in this area anytime in the near future you might give him a call .He was at your concert also. I am the one who ask you about the song, When grandma plays the piano. My grandchildrens grandmother played the piano and they love that song. This was my third time to see you in concert and I hope to see you again soon. Will be praying for you Kirk. The lord has great things in store for you. June Stover

I just want you to know I admire your strength through God to contine your ministry. I saw you a couple of time in TN about 1 1/2 years ago. Your music really touched my heart and brought me closer to God. My purchased my first CD of your's Gatlinburg, TN one week end when I was going through a tough time. It gave the the strenght and peace to face that time in my life. I still listen to the CD often and the past week I have listened to it exclusively when in my car - it is such an eye opener and blessing and I just want to say thank you! It's like you are there talking just to me when I need it most. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Everyone needs to see Kirk Talley in person. Last night was cool in South Fulton, TN but Kirk warmed up a great audience at Twin Cities Assembly of God Church there. This was the first time I have seen him solo and was more impressed with his incredible talent. You must hear him whistle "Just A Closer Walk With Thee".....that was special. Great testimony before God was given by Mr. Talley and what an incredible mission statement his ministry is leading. We were treated to a new song that he will be including in his upcoming recording and let me tell you that you will not be disappointed!

've already worn my KIRK'S KREW button, and even though I ordered 3, I now have to order some more. I think EVERYONE who sees mine wants one. I think they're a GREAT idea, and I'm happy to show and tell everyone I'm a proud member of "Kirk's Krew". My nephew took one to school for "Show & Tell" the other day, and his classmates thought they were "really cool". Maybe you'll start a whole new generation of Kirk Talley fans. Who knows? I'm praying that your week-end travels were safe, and unadventurous (my spelling mind just "died"; sorry). God bless.

Kirk, Glad you're back! From the time I found out what happened and what it was about, I prayed that God would give you the strength and grace to overcome. It's true that "Christians" are frequently the most unforgiving of people and we rarely live up to the name by which we call ourselves; however, it is good to know that there is One who will always forgive AND forget. And He's the important one anyway, isn't He? I thank you for your honesty and humility. May God bless your ministry and continue to help you through each day.

Kirk, Glad your back! There is very little more encouragement that I can say. I do hope that you might find it encouraging that I want to learn fromwhat you have been through. After reading your testimony, seeing the comments from your fans and closest friends, I am even more convinced of this one thing. We as believers truly need to lift one another up in prayer. Life is not any easier, Satan is not backing off, and we still need to till the land. Like everyone else, I am in the flesh, I still battle the flesh, and will continue to until the day I die. But greater is HE that is in us than he that is in the world. Sometimes, though, you need a friend. I am thrilled of the support that you have and your team that's been compiled to help you after this valley you've been through. I want to develop a team for our ministry before I face my valley. Thanks for your service to Jesus, your encouragement of the saints, and your witness to the lost. The best is yet to come!

Hi Kirk, I was so glad to see you at George's "celebration" and to get to chat with you. I wanted to ask you the directions to get a Gally burger but u were visiting with others when I thought about it.Maybe next time I will remember...So glad you are coming back to Michigan next week, it'll be a great concert, I know.About the only thing I wish different in the celebration if you all wanted to is some acknowlegement that the Cathedral alumni was in attendance & even if they would of had you all just stand, that would of been ok!!! As for your comments & notes on the service, it was very detailed & interesting & even tho some of us were fortunate in attending, bet you have a better article than some in Singing News,,,,,, I could feel the love you have for George & his family in those lines....See you next Friday in Hazel Park. On a personal note, besides Gally burgers, what's your favorite? I have checked off cold meatballs & fruitcake>> HA!!!!!!! In Christ Kitty & Dave Richards

Kirk, I've sent you two e-mails today and now I'm posting here. I do not know if what I'm about to say may offer you a little more insight and some encouragement. You know, my first e-mail to you today reflected a little of my indignation and anger at what seemed to be shortsighted responses. My second was sent after viewing your guestbook, which I have not done for some time. Did I have any reason to be angry with you? Absolutely not!!! Satan is such a great deceiver and can cause people to fall into conflict and misunderstanding for no reason, but you know what brims over in my heart? God's truth and love. I know I will falter(almost daily) but He is so good He reveals all of Satan's deceptions to me. I can only then imagine how great your conflict must be as you receive comments, many unsolicited from every corner. You're vunerability is evident and I believe in time you're humility will be, too. It's there, hidden behind the conflict. God will reveal Satan's deceptions in one way or another. He just did. Life truly is a puzzle but God is putting all the pieces together; you will find your peace. Sorry for all my rambling. When your new CD becomes available, let me know. I cannot not wait to hear the end result. Happy

Kirk, I am certainly glad to see that you have not let your detractors stop you from doing what God has called you to do. People who would critize you for the struggles you go through don't realize, or don't want to face the fact that although our struggles may be different, we all have different things that it takes the Grace of God to overcome. I let a different situation rob me of many years of my ministry because of "godly" people. I'm glad you are back on the road. Keep your eyes on Jesus.

Kirk, I just read Ken whoever's comments, and I was not only appalled, but I was downright angered that anyone could take a situation that has been handled so carefully by so many Godly men, and try to turn it into something sick and perverted! How could anyone sit and listen to your testimony as you poured out your heart and not realize how sincere you are? Don't let anyone discourage you Kirk. You keep looking to Jesus to sustain you. He is your source of strength, and there are literally thousands of people praying, loving and supporting you on a daily basis. God sees and hears the cry of your heart. He will not forsake you although man will. Satan will use anyone who is willing to steal your joy and discourage you. Don't let that happen. You've come too far and won too many battles to allow anything to deter you now You are loved! Becky

Kirk, I just read Ken somebodys post on here. What a NUTCASE. If this is any inkling of what you have had to endure for a year and half, no wonder you were so depressed all year. I guess I never realized how crazy some people really are. If all it took was talking to a "tongue talking pentecostal" wonder why Paul didn't find one? I think he talked to Christ himself and he still had a thorn in the flesh. Walk in Grace brother, and don't let the nuts wear you down. Those of us who love you are praying for you daily.

I couldn't help but to respond to our friend Ken Scherer's sincere comments. Although I can feel and hear that Ken has a honest heart and good intentions, I can not help but to cry out in defense to you Kirk. When I read his comments I wanted to shout NO! and hold up a curtain of armor in defense to you to keep discouragement and defeatment from coming close to you. At first I was hestitant because I do not want to start an online debate, but it saddens me that someone would be so quick to throw Bible verses and false accusations about a situation that was meant to be a very personal and spiritual healing process for you. I found it profoundly unfair and <really> obsurd that Ken took out of context that you were lustfully fingering the crucifix or laying on the body of Christ in any way other than for how it was intended. My Bible says "Judge not lest ye be judged"; it doesn't seem Christian to be judging that the pastors and counselors that are leading Kirk are not 'spiritual' or 'Godly' enough when you don't even know who they are. In the pretense of Kirk lying on the body of Christ, Kirk was letting God's spirit fill his body, letting the Holy Spirit seep into every pore of his being, filling himself with Christ's love, WHICH I believe God was very much there. But really, it doesn't matter even what I think, because God is judge, and He knows Kirks heart and his intentions. Maybe instead of creating diliberate stories of falsecity with Kirk, we can be more Christ like and pray for him and trust God in directing Kirk's walk. Because as we all know, God knows better than any of us, no matter how smart we think we are. Much love Kirk, Lisa Roof

I'm delighted that you have a guestbook where people can write and encourage you; but like so many who take the share and care cards at church and decide to tell the pastors what they think of their attire, their wife's weight, or something like that, some people feel it is their "free speech" North American right to take this opportunity to preach and chastise, etc. rather than encourage you. I've got to say I'm so saddened when I read a recent former note to you, Kirk, taking what was an incredibly significant, transforming experience which you had with the living Christ, and reducing it to something that was perverse and frankly quite scary in the description. All I can say is, I'm so sorry that people feel the right to splatter your encounter with allegations of ill intentions. I believe that your encounter with Christ was so powerful and so real, and that your day by day transformation is also so very real; it takes wisdom and maturity to be able to turn a deaf ear to criticism, so my prayer is that you will be so "splattered" by encouragement and blessing that those who feel their "God-given" right to criticise will be drowned out! Keep up the fight! You have so many people standing with you, holding your arms up and celebrating your ongoing transformation. Folks, let's use this avenue to build up the community and Kirk rather than tear down.

Hello Kirk, my friend, my Dahlin'! Just thought I would post to the guestbook today. Keep doing and stay in God's will. Talking about what happened to you is one of the best ways to heal. (I had a very wise counselor share that with me after losing my dad many years ago.) Even Paul shared his conversion experience during his ministry. Mrs. Pierce in East Texas said in order to effectively witness, you must have a testimony. She is so right and YOU definitely have one. A testimony the good Lord can use for healing, mending, restoring, and reviving. So keep sharing. God will give the increase! He will make all things beautiful in His time. Put everything in HIS hands and give HIM the glory. Enjoy your weekend! Still praying. LOVE YOU!

In the honesty of confession there is forgiveness and cleansing. (1st John 1:9) It is a pity that in the "church" there has to be such division over confession of sin. I often wonder why so many are not compassionate with thier brothers and sisters in Christ who, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, do the right thing and confess. Mr. Talley, if you ever read this, or whoever might read this, I hope you understand that you are not less of a christian then others because of a failing, because it is by grace and not by works. If you've confessed and repented then before God you are spotless. To paraphrase what God said to Peter, "What I have made clean, you have no right to call dirty!" May the grace of God abound to you richly, my brother, my equal.

You have been one of my favorites and I have lost track of you. I have asked 'Singing News' and others what had happened to you and no one would even give me an answer. I was afraid that something had happened to you. I am so happy to see your website. Do you have any new records out, my most favorite is "Saranaded By Angels". In Christian Love, Margaret Haines I'm not a groupie I am 77 and just think you have a wonderful voice and gift from God.

I am also thankful for your input when i asked your advice on starting a new group. The Lord has really used you Kirk, and in closing, just about whenever i've been discuraged these last few years it has been mostly your songs that have been in my head giving me comfort and strength. Kirk, I just learned of your struggles yesterday. Wow, what a surprise. I am praying for you. I hope you make the right CHOICE and it is a choice. It will be a struggle, but the bible is very clear that living for Christ is a battle, we are to very courageous, not to grow weary, and to put on the armour of God. Sounds like war to me, and most wars we've been in as a nation weren't won in a day or two. We have to be persistent. Even when satan temted Christ it was a short thing, and it wasn't a one time thing. Keep pleading the blood of Jesus over your situation, keep praising the Lord, keep resisting the devil. I'll pray for you, and your sister Diane, it sounds like she needs it as well. It is all spiritual warfare. God bless you.

Hello--First to Kirk & everyone--so sorry to hear of the passing of dear George Younce. A sweet, talented, humble & funny man. Its so sad to see so many of the great ones going on but we will see them again & they leave a wonderful legacy on earth to cherish. You were blessed to be friends. ---Now in defense of the Singing News Magazine. Many ministries, radio stations, churches have rules that when someone is dealing with someone they do not allow that person to publicy link themselves to that organization. Its not always right but it is their right. The Singing News, at least, did not print a gossipy column about Kirk & that should be commended. Magazines like Charisma & Christianity Today do nothing but gossip about everyone who has any kind of publicity in Christianity. They are just as bad as tabloids in the grocery store. I am sure, in time, if we all respond in love, God will work on their hearts but its going to take love & prayers. Keep up the great work Kirk. I enjoy your interesting newsletters. I cannot believe people actually right you to tell you how to right or what was wrong with your face or something in the pictures you post. But becareful driving & eat healthier. Of course, I should talk. God Bless & Happy Trails

I have been a fan of your music since I first heard you showcase your "Serenaded by Angels" recording on Ralph Emery's show in Nashville a number of years ago. I was unaware of the trials you have been undergoing until you gave your testimony at the First Baptist Church of Cold Springs last evening. And, while I own a great collection of your CD's, after hearing of your struggles I am more a fan than ever. I admire you for the courage you are showing every time you tell your story and want you to know that you will be in my prayers daily. With God all things are possible.

A word to the wise - - a friend subscribed to the Singing News magazine, and after I told her what they have done to Kirk, she told them she wanted to CANCEL her subscription and have the charge credited to her credit card. This is the "kicker": the ONLY way to get a refund is given is if the SUBSCRIBER DIES!! She asked to whom the refund is sent in that case, but no answer has been given so far. Be assured she and I will BOTH exercise our right to freedom of speech regarding what might be considered unethical, and most definitely UNchristian, practices. Needless to say, the subscription will NOT be renewed. My bet is, that by the time she finishes with them, they will BEG her to take her money back. :)

Kirk , I saw you last night in Cold Spring at the First Bapt Church. You were awesome. I was so happy the church was full. Your singing was as good as ever and your testimony was so moving. I think everyone in the audience was in tears. I spoke to you briefly and asked you about George Younce. Then this morning, I got the news that he had passed away in the night. I know you loved him greatly. I remember when you first joined the Cathedrals. You were a shot in the arm for those guys. In my opinion, you started them on a rise in popularity. After we saw you with them, we were immediate Cathedral fans and have continued to be. You deserve a lot of credit for helping them reach higher levels of popularity. Your ministry is great. I look forward to seeing what God has in store for you. I am very proud to be a Kirk Talley Fan Rena

Dear Kirk : Our brother in Christ. The first time we heard you, you were 15 yrs. You and your brother came to our little church, with the Hopper Brothers and Connie. Our 15 yr old daughter, Sherrie was having trouble staying in her seat. She was sure that you were the one God had chosen just for her. What she didn't know was that her parents had fallen in love with you and you became a part of our prayer list to this day. We have followed your ministry and came to all the concerts that were close by our home. Sherrie grew up and married a young man who turned out to be not the one God wanted for her. Soon after the divorce, she was heart broken and she began writing letters to you. To this date she has written more than 2 dozen letters. However she hesitated to mail them, because she thought you might not understand her admiration for you, thinking you probably got way too many letters of the same kind. We saw you in concert with the Cathedrals at Faith Memorial Church in Lancaster, Ohio. As the group began to gather on stage, Sherrie took her two small girls to the powder room, upon opening the door hurriedly pushed open the large door too the foyer and crashed into you. When she returned to be seated with us, she was physicaly shaking and her face was very red. We asked her if she was ok. She couldn't speak, she sat and cried through the whole concert. We knew something happened that was of a spirtual nature. She was quiet as we drove home. She took her mother to her bedroom and began telling her about her quest, all the letters she had written to you and did not send. She told her that when she physicaly bump into you and your eyes and her eyes connected, that she was sure that God made you for her. She felt that she had disapointed God by not sending the letters, over the years. I encouraged her to write more letters, but she thought it was too late because you wouldn't be interested in a young women divorced and mother of two small little girls. She still writes letters, but doesn't mail them. She is a beautiful women, deeply commited to Christ. Her oldest daughter is studying to become a medical missionary at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Her youngest daughter will be a senior in high school next year and plays the guitar in the adult praise band in their church. Sherrie told her mother that when God sends Kirk Talley to her front door, she might consider dating. She has not dated at all since the divorce, (13 yrs). She works as a social worker for the Fairfield County Family Services and is making a diffe Kirk, we love you unconditionaly. We are, so, sorry you had to stuggle for such a long time. You can count on our love, prayers, and support. Kirk, when you Cry...we taste Salt. Bob & Marion

I do hope the spate of vehicular incidents are over, and I'm glad your secretary was unharmed in hers. I am also looking forward to getting my KIRKS KREW buttonS, and WEARING THEM. There are a couple of concerts coming up in a few weeks that I always attend, and I intend to wear my buttonS to those concerts. And probably to church and everywhere else I go. I am PROUD of you, and I want everyone to know that KIRK TALLEY IS ALIVE AND WELL, and ON THE ROAD AGAIN!! Just PLEASE - - next time take a COAT, and watch out for rabbits standing close to the roadway. I think your KIRKS KREWE members have had enough "scares" for the year. We're just glad you're okay. I have, however, doubled my prayers on your behalf to hopefully forestall any other such incidents. I don't think MY nerves could take it. :)

Hello my dear friend, I have been so amazed and blessed by your wonderful songs that you have written and sung for many years. In 1996, my husband and my elderly parents went on a January Bible Study with Charles Stanley and there was my favorite singer.....YOU. My family had just gone through a tragedy and we were still reeling with grief. My brother was a minister and had recently taken his life in October, 1995. He was 46 years old and unknown to us, his family and his wife and children, had lived a double life. He made that known in May of that year and went into a 30 day counseling program for ministers. He got better about his depression and we thought he was going to be ok, but he wasn't and just could not stay here any longer without that peace he so desired. My parents were so devastated to learn of his death and all of his family was....on this cruise, you introduced "Serenaded by Angels" and told how you had written it.....it was what we needed to hear and I had to literally take mother back to our room as she was was so emotional. In the years to come, this song has given us comfort and the security we need to know that my brother is in heaven now for sure and serenaded by those same angels... I have enjoyed your concerts that we have been too and just wanted to say that I have prayed for you this past year and will continue to do so. I so hope to get to come hear you sing again and see that glorious smile of yours and that wonderful voice praising God for all that he has done for you.....I love you dearly. Sylvia

Kirk, I just recently heard about your struggle. When I discovered your web site, the first thing I read was your testamony. WOW!!! As a man struggeling with gender identity issues, I thought I'd lend a supportive voice the it'll all be ok, and that GOD will see you through it. Just goes to show that GOD is sneakier than we tend to give HIM credit for. Your story gave me hope that I'll not only learn to live with this, but that my ministerial calling can still be used in spite of the problems. THANK YOU, THANK GOD FOR YOU, AND MOST OF ALL GOD BLESS.

Kirk, I was very upset when hearing that you had cancelled concerts but living way up here in the East, had no idea what was happening to you. My close friends and I only knew we must pray for you. Then learned about your circumstances just a few weeks ago. Kirk, I have followed you and your career since early on especially with the Cathedrals and since then. I have always loved your amazing voice and song writing talent and even more so, your wonderful humor, personality and obvious love of our Lord Jesus Christ. You have been in our daily prayers for quite some time and even more strongly now. I am getting to be an old woman but have seen many miracles for those who trust in Him. My dear - keep up the good fight - He will never leave you nor forsake you! Those of us who love you (and there are many) will never leave you either. I so look forward to seeing you in concert again. We love you!!

It is time to take a stand for Kirk and return his music and ministry to the radio air waves. In a few short weeks, JOY FM, 91.3, a large market radio station in Winston-Salem, NC, will hold their Spring Share-a-thon to raise their operating budget for the next six months. JOY FM is a listener supported station and the listeners will call in or email in their financial pledges for the next six months. I will renew my six month pledge and do so in honor of Kirk Talley. What would happen if if all the Krew members from the JOY FM listening audience did the same? It would certainly communicate to the station managers that we want to hear Kirk's music on the station that we support. If there are any other friends of Kirk in the JOY FM listening, I invite and challenge you to join me in making your pledge to JOY in honor of Kirk. All pledges are read on the air. The dates for the JOY FM Spring Share-a-thon are May 4 -- 6. The number to call to make your pledge on those days is 1-888-569-9974. You may also submit a pledge on their website at www.joyfm.org. Kirk was a valuable participant in many past Share-a-thons as he gave of his time and helped this station raise money for several years in a row. I am so disappointed that now they choose not to play his music. As I make my pledge in honor of Kirk, I hope that it communicates to them if they want my money then they need to start playing Kirk Talley's music once again. Join me in this effort to return Kirk Talley to JOY FM!

Where our multiracial congregation are blessed by their teaching & preaching. We were moved by your testimony and distressed that any christian would judge you. My husband & I are determined to pray for you dailey. As I spoke to you about the Teenager (daughter) I took in before my husband & I married, we learned about a whole new culture. I am determined to love and minister to my daughter and her friends. As I had read, from Love One Out you must love, not condon nor condemn. God is Greater. Reading about your life reminds me a little bit of mine before I found freedom. A word of advice: There will be no limit to the number of do-gooders & insiders who will all have scads of advice - none of which will work. One reader hit on the answer when he mentioned what the Apostle wrote about "Hidden Wisdom". That's it - & the inability to see this is why there is such tremendous failure in so many "wholeness" ministries. God's answer is so astonishing that most people reject it -- despite the fact it is verbatim from the Book itself. Why? By their tradition ... they NULLIFY the word of God. I struggled with similar issues for 20+ years and in less than 5 minutes someone opened the same Bible I'd been misreading for years & showed me something that I'd read a dozen times & then read it again for the 1st time! 20+ years of struggling undone in 5 minutes. I can't believe that so many self-professed Christians in "the program" can't see what is so clear to me now! It was indeed - a revelation. May you find liberation from the curse, too!

I would hope you would record the song you wrote here this morning and would be singing it at future concerts. Please explain to your audiences how you came to write the song. I'm glad you enjoyed our beautiful weather. LOL (We had two feet of snow overnight after several days of beautiful weather.) Can't wait to see the pictures. Please come back to our church and maybe to spend a couple of days with us and take in the sights in the area. Again thank you very much for coming and we will be praying for you. Won't be much, 'cause can't afford much, but I've found that a "little bit of something" is better than "a whole lot of nothing." Kirk, Just wanted to say that you have been a blessing in my life for several years now. I have learned alot from your testimony over the years. I'm so thankful for that. Each time I get down and out, I would put one of you songs in the tape deck. And my sorrows were lifted. I want to tell don't give up, keep going. Also I saw you a couple of weeks ago at Cracker Barrell. And I didn't say anything to you. I didn't wont to bother you and I needed to apologize for that. I'm sorry. You are great man in my eyes and my family. We are praying for you and your family. May God surround you and hold you in his care forever and ever. Thanks, Molly

Dear Kirk, You know I love you as a brother in Christ. I love your music and your ministry. I believe I should speak clearly on this matter I'm about to talk about. I don't want to offend anyone or make anyone feel like God doesn't love them. God loves all of us. God hates sin. Sin separates us from God. People differ on whether or not works of the flesh will keep you from going to heaven. Paul tells us that the works of the flesh will not inherit the kingdom of God. Sin when it is finished brings forth death. I'm not sure if it is the death of salvation or the death of your rewards in heaven, either way it costs you dearly. I understand the testimony of the woman that said she was loved and supported in her time of need by the lesbian community and abandoned by her family and church. In my flesh I wanted to think the people that were there for her were the ones closest to God. That would be a lie! Children that join gangs will tell you the same thing about their fellow gang members. Drunkards will tell you the same thing about their bar room buddies. It is true, that it seems, the people who are hurting you the most by supporting your sin are a God send. They aren't! God does love the sinner. The word is clear that he hates the sin. Leviticus 18:22 "Do not practice homosexuality;it is a detestable sin." NLT, Romans 1:24-32 talks about "God let them go and do whatever shameful things their hearts desired." Women with women and men with men, "as a result, suffered within themselves the penalty they so richly deserved." "When they refused to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their evil minds and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives were full of every kind of wickedness ... They are fully aware of God's death penalty for those who do these things, yet they go right ahead and do them anyway. And worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too." I Timothy 1:9-10 are talking about the law being made. "But they were not made for people who do what is right. They are for people who are disobedient and rebellious, who are ungodly and sinful, who consider nothing sacred and defile what is holy, who murder their father or mother or other people. These laws are for people who are sexually immoral, for homosexuals and slave traders, for liars and oath breakers, and for those who do anything else that contradicts the right teaching." That's the important thing here, not to contradict the right teaching. We need to love the sinner, but not the sin. If we are in any way saying that sin is acceptable because sinners accept the sinner. We are in sin. There are many scriptures in the Bible that talk about running away from sexual immorality along with many other sins. I Corinthians 6:9-20, Galations 5:19-21 to name a couple. II Corinthians 12:21, Paul talks about being grieved when he returns because people will not have repented of their impurity, sexual immorality, and eagerness for lustful pleasure. In Jude 1:7 we are reminded of Sodom and Gomorrah and how they were destroyed because of their sexual immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. I Corinthians 5:9 Tells us to "not to associate with people who indulge in sexual sin." I believe that is why people feel abandoned by their family and church. Until they turn from sexual sin their family and church are not supposed to associate with them. (not my words but God's) Read Colossians 3:5-10 verse 6 tells us that "God's terrible anger will come upon those who do such things." I have said all these things to end with Paul's example of hope to the worst of sinners, which he said he was. I Timothy 1:12-20 Paul talks about how God had mercy on him and how "Jesus Christ could use him as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst of sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life." My plea to you and to anyone who may be reading this is that you keep your consciences clear so your faith won't become shipwrecked. James 5:16 Tells us to "Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results." It's important to me to keep balance and to rightfully divide the word of truth. God does love all of us and he wants us to turn away from our sin. I pray that you will receive this message and share the truth of God's word with other hurting people so they won't be deceived. In Christ, Rebecca

Hi Kirk, I like your news letters just the way they are. So please don't change them. I am so sorry about your car accident but I'm glad you are ok. I think it is a great ideal about the Kirk buttons and my family wants to get them when they come in. We are going to try and come to your concert in May. And oh by the way I think it is cute how you sign off as Capitan Kirk. I like you just the way you are, Kirk and am so proud of you. Keep up the good work. Your friend, Dorothy

Wonderful seeing how this WWWebsite has allowed you to surround yourself with so many positive instructors who have to say what your ears must need to hear after hearing other things from others that must feel like wounds sometimes! Remember what Paul wrote in Galatians 3:28. "...that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. We speak wisdom, however, among them that are fullgrown: yet a wisdom not of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who are coming to nought: - but we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, even the wisdom that hath been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds unto our glory: - which none of the rulers of this world hath known: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory"

Good for you, Kirk! By being honest about your tials, you have opened a door to thousands of people who struggle with deep-rooted difficulties. I just pray that God gives you the strength to keep on. I know you've been through a lot, but God has a promise for you: Revelation 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. Praise the Lord, Bro. Kirk! There's an old song, "God Will Take Care of You." You can surely rely on that promise, because God will not and cannot go back on His word. Bless your heart, brother. Keep on Keepin' On! We love you dearly...and if we're permitted just a little pride, we are certainly PROUD OF YOU. In Christ, unto His glory and praise,

Hi Kirk, I just signed up for your newsletter and like it very much. My husband and I were a part of the "Texas" couples who showed up at every Cathedral concert in the area. I ordered the book by Lindsay Terry and wanted you to know that Lindsay was the music director at our church, Lavon Drive Baptist Church in Garland, TX, for many years. I sang in the choir and was fortunate to sit under his direction. Not only was he my music director but I was good friends with Lindsay and Marilyn. They are great people. Do you remember Billie and Jerrald Kennedy? Their daughter, Becky, is married to Lance Terry. I'm looking forward to receiving the book. Lindsay is a talented writer and Marilyn is a very talented artist. Thanks for the newsletter. Keep up the good work. Patty Williamson

Kirk, I imagine this e-mail is probably going to be a little different than what most send. No matter how different it is, it is like the others in the fact that it is sent with love. For years, I battled homosexuality. It was a tool in which death almost conquered me with. I ran to the mission field to escape the feelings I had as a young woman and tried to find safety from what I thought was the devil fast on my heels. I convinced myself that if I could just pray longer, pray harder that God could heal me. For years, I was so caught up in "living" the heterosexual lifestyle that life passed me by. I was so sick and tired of being sick and tired. I married and it failed. It was a defeat like I could not even explain. It did not take long for my ex-husband to tell our Pastor, Deacons, and congregation that I was a lesbian. I resigned my position one Sunday morning and walked away believing that I would never darken the door of another church again. At a time in my life when I needed my family and my church the most, they abandon me. At a time when I needed prayer, I received gossip. At a time when I needed love and support, I received a briefing on Biblical "law." I lay in the floor three days. Broken. Rejected. Fallen and alone. I couldn't pray. I couldn't think. All I could do was cry. It's been 5 years and I know now that sometimes God doesn't do things to us, but for us. I can remember on the fourth day, getting up, composing myself and washing my hands of it. I pushed forward in my career and allowed little time to think much less to feel and pray. There were many nights, that I could hear the voice of my Savior pleading with me to call His name. I was so hurt, so angry. I refused. In these still moments I could hear that tender voice telling me that all I had to do was call His name. He did not need a long prayer. He did not need acts of service. All He wanted was to hear me...little old broken me...call His name. I surrendered three years ago. I was lying in my bed one Wednesday night sure that I couldn't take it anymore, defeated and alone. I sat up and let out a sob from the depths of my soul and one word...JESUS. A peace came over me like I can not explain. A warmth. All I prayed was, "Lord, I'm so scared. All I want is for you to come down here and cradle me. I want to feel loved, accepted, safe just one more time." He did that for me. And in the morning, I sat out to find my faith again. What I found was a Savior. Not a God that ruled with an iron fist and with lightening and force gave His laws. Not a Lord who expected perfection. But, a Savior who loved me--a flawed, broken, rejected woman and who has helped me learn to love myself. I say all of this in pretense to the reason I am writing. When I was alone and defeated, loving supportive faces did show up. When I was angry at God and everyone who ever hurt me, there was comfort and a message of forgiveness for them. And, it came from the gay/lesbian community. In this part of the country when people find out about you and your struggle their initial reaction is to strip you of "God." They helped me understand that NO ONE can rip me from the hand of God, that NO ONE can take away my salvation and that NO ONE can stand in judgment of me. They loved me when I could not love myself and if that's not the message of Christ, I don't know what is. It's these same people that e'd me the morning after what happened to you saying, "Pray for our brother. He stands in the wake of a horrible storm." I prayed my same prayer for you. "May you ease his fear, cradle him, let him feel loved, accepted and safe." Now, I'm crying. Anyway, there two kinds of people in life. There's the kind that when it rains and pours build an ark. The strong, the faithful, the good. And, then, there are the kind like me...the weak, the humble, and the fallen who can't do anything but pray for the grace to open an umbrella. Our community has sent petition after petition to all our gospel stations pleading that they play your music. I'm so happy that you have found your answers. God always give us what we need. Maybe your message is to soften the heart of the "church" that cast stones and has "no room" for us. I have found life, love, happiness and peace in the gay/lesbian community. The best way for me to be true to the God who created me is to be true to the person He made me. I think you're being true to the person He made you and that's an asset and a blessing to the congregation and the people you witness to. We've listened to and loved your music through out your entire career and that has not and will not change regardless of your sexuality. When we look at you, we don't see the straight Kirk or the gay Kirk, we see our brother who has spent many years up lifting and praising the God who fearfully and wonderfully made us all. May you dance in the blessings God is gonna rain down on you, Nicole
