CommentsWell Kirk,
I did get to see you in Scranton on Jan 30th and I was not at all disappointed. It was well worth the 2 hr drive there and back. It was good to see you up there singing again. I didn't realize how much I had missed you until I saw you again. I thank God for you daily and for the ones that you're going to be able to bring to Christ because of what you've been through. I'm sorry for the friends, family, and other acquaintenances you've lost because of all of this. My prayer is that in time it will all be restored. May God continue to bless you and your ministry!!!!

I am glad that God's mercy has been extended to those who fall along the way. I praise the Name of Jesus for your ministry, and your honesty. I pray that God will allow Kirk Talley's testimony to bring many to Christ. God bless you, Brother Kirk!!!

Stay focused; keep your eyes on the cross. Don't get discouraged. Setbacks will happen. Remember, we are not perfect but the love of our Savior is ever present and true. The journey- an earthly preparation for heavenly Glory! Words of favor are being spoken over your life; take comfort in our Father's fulfillment of His promises. Also, it is not uncommon that a the pinnacle of a spirtual high Satan will attack hardest. The Lord guides me to write this to you, and so I do in faith knowing that the promises of His word never fail. I pray for you continually. I love you. God bless.
Hold tight to the cross,
Happy Fenton

CommentsFirst of all, your new website is great. Mine and my husband's "hobby" is going to a greatl many southern gospel concerts. Sunday, Jan 31, 2005, we had the opportunity to either go see Terry Carter's group Adoration about 5 miles from our house or to go see you in Scranton, SC about 50 miles from our house. We chose to go see you, not for curiousity sake, but to "back you up" with our attendance and out prayers. I have followed your career a great many years and when I found out the devasting news at the end of 2003, my opinion of you never wavered. I have read your testimony on your web site, but when I actually heard it from you personally, I only then realized what horror you have gone thru. Let me tell you, it takes a very strong, honest person to be able to stand in front of a congretation and tell what you have had to tell. My admiration of you has only grown even stronger. Never, ever waver from the calling God has put upon your life. Negativism does hurt tremendously when it comes from your peers that you have loved and trusted and called your friends for a long time. But God has a way of turning the negative into the positive. Keep on keeping on. We love you!

CommentsKirk,
I sent you an e-mail Tuesday. Humiliatingly, I've realized going back and
revisting your site, I had several punctuation and spelling errors. Not
very good for an English teacher, I know. Seriously, I promise I'm actually
competent, but I typed this quickly in a matter of about two minutes(sure my
typing teacher from high school would be thrilled!) Anyway, I'm writing
because I heard your down with the flu. Get better soon and God bless. As
always, you'll be in my prayers.
In His perfect love,
Happy Fenton

We will see you this Sunday(1-30-05) at El Bethel in Lugoff ,SC.

CommentsHi Kirk,
I have been a fan of yours since the 80's when you were in Oskaloosa, Iowa
as the Talley Trio. I just read your testimony and am so thankful that God
has been with you through the past several months. I am a Krew member so
have been receiving you emails, and you are still a fan of mine. Many of
your songs have touched my heart; "Serenaded By Angels" is so special....it
was used at my sister-in-laws funeral several years ago (she was 49). I
could go one and on about other songs, but I am just so thankful that you
are using your talents for God once again. May God continue to bless you as
you follow His leading. If you are ever back in Iowa, I hope I will be able
to come hear you again. I also enjoy my CD's of "The Trio." That is great
singing!! God bless and keep you in His care.

CommentsDear Kirk:
We want to tell you that you are in our prayers. We are two Christian men
who are gay and have lived in a loving relationship for 37 years. Both of us
were once married to wonderful women, however we found that our true
sexuality did not allow us to love our wives in every way. It has been a
long and often painful journey for us, particularly because we are not
always welcome as a couple in many churches. We were one of the couples who
too the Canadian government to court in 2000, in order to gain our right to
marry. On July 17th of last year we had the joy of walking down the aisle of
a church, in front of family and friends and read our vows to each other. So
now we are legally married and within a few months the government will pass
legislation that will allow any same-sex loving couple to do the same. We
ask you to be the person that God created you to be. Don't be fooled into
thinking that there is a majic process that turns homosexuals into
heterosexuals. It has been tried by thousands and all that has happened is
these poor folks created a living hell of their lives. God has given you a
fabulous talent and we urge you to use it wherever He leads you. Please do
not beat yourself up and try to change something that's impossible to
change. May God comfort and guide you.

CommentsKirk, Your new web site looks really good. I have alot of respect for you
for telling everythingyou told in your testimony. That took alot of strength
to be able to talk about the things you did. You have alot of people that
love you and are praying for you. you will overcome this stronghold in you
life. Satan knows how much your music has touched peoples lives and he tries
to destroy all things that are good. I have been struggling with a strong
hold in my life and I know how hard it is. They will destroy us if we don't
realize what is happening and get control of them. I believe one day the
problems you struggle with will go away ,because with God allthings are
possible and you have alot of people praying for you. God can perform
miracles. Keep on Singing! Sandra,

CommentsKirk, I have just now learned of the issue you have been dealing with the
last year. Although you may have thought everyone knew, I am one of your
biggest fans and my mother, Teresa Peedin, is absolutely your biggest fan
ever, and we have not heard anything. I just went on line to check your
schedule because we have missed seeing you. I live in Sumter, SC and
everytime you visit us I let my mother and sister know and they drive down
to Sumter from Raleigh. At the last gospel concert we attended in Sumter
my mother asked Shirley Ward when you would return and Shirley said in July.
My mom is 77 years old. She is so looking forward to seeing you again. She
still talks about the last time she saw you and how you came running over to
greet her. Kirk, you just don't know what a blessing you are to your fans
and all the people who love you. It really breaks my heart to learn of the
struggle you have dealt with while at the same time I know you have grown
from it just from reading your testimony. Please know that you will be in
our prayers. Don't ever give up on life-it is too precious. And thank you
for having the courage to bare you soul as you did in your testimony. With
love and prayers, Brenda

CommentsWhat a wonderful new website, Kirk!
Im just writing to let you know that I too, along with all these other
people who have written in your guestbook, have loved you for many years and
am praying for your continued recovery from this latest pathetic attempt to
separate you from our Father. Anyone who would have the audacity to bring
up your past has to reach thru the blood in order to dredge it up again
(since your sins have been covered by the blood of the Lamb). I, for one,
would not want to someday stand before my Father with blood on MY hands.
Anyway, I'd like to point out, also, that I enjoyed the story about the
"Meatballs and Gravy". It sounds like something I would do. *giggle* But
can u imagine what would have happened had it been a fruitcake? Instead of
having to spend hours cleaning, you would have been on the phone looking for
someone to replace your window! Ha ha ha! You would be picking up pieces
of dried cherries and glass out of your carpet for months!
Keep on Keeping on, Kirk. I love you!

You have been such an example for those who want to leave the world behind.
I've told you about my son who was in prison and is now home and living for
the Lord. Part of his recovery was because of your song, "Past Your Past."
Thank you for trusting God who can do anything. Isn't He GREAT? Keep up
the good work and I hope to see you soon in the great state of Michigan.
Hopefully with a little less snow than what we have now.

with the Triumphant Quartet--I know it will be great. I'm so happy that
you're still singing and ministering and that God is opening doors for you.

you and lend His anointing to your life. With much love...Dianne Wilkinson.

CommentsKirk, I am sorry that you are no longer ever featured or talked about in The
Singing News. I've thought about writing them and asking them what sin do
they stop talking about a singer after? Is is glutton (that would eliminate
the fat ones, gossip, that would eliminate quite a few or is it "all about
being about one's self and promoting one's self" That would probably take
care of the most of them, especially if you include the ones who "show off"
their clothers and buses. IT seems to me that they have chosen to be a
little judgemental. I hope that the Lord will show them that He IS THE ONLY
JUDGE!

The first time I saw Kirk Talley, I was 5 years old. He was singing with the
Cathedral Quartet. Their group became very special to us. My mother was
gravely ill and was not expected to live. Once, when they were passing
through our area, Kirk called the hospital from a pay phone to check on my
Mother knowing of her illness. That call and his kindness will never be
forgotten. My mother was completely healed in 1983 and our family began a
small singing ministry which was greatly influenced by these wonderful men
of God. It is my firm belief that some of the greatest gospel songs that
minister today have come out of this heartwrenching struggle in Kirk's life.
God uses our weaknesses to prove His strength and through our restoration,
He gives insight and help to others. Kirk's songs continue to minister to
"Lonely People" , helps them get "Past their Past " and find a "Refuge in
Jesus".
Name: H Fenton Email: Date: 26/01/05
CommentsKirk,
I have no e-mail address, so I am praying this goes through. First, I think
you're a sensational entertainer. The warmth and humor personified by you
evident through the songs which you sing.
It's difficult for me to fully express what your music has meant to me.
Like so many others, I consider it uplifting, a source of inspiration from a
heartfelt place. Furthermore, it seems strange to be posting this on the
Internet, especially when I've handwritten several letters to you(these are
still in my possession as I did not know where to foward them), but after
reading your testimony I felt compelled to write this. God bless you for
your courage and conviction!
The first time I saw you in person was November 2003 at Southside Baptist
Church in Palestine, Texas. I knew about you long before this, though; I'm
a great fan of your work. My one sincere regret that night continues to be
that I didn't personally speak with you and express these sentiments, but
hindsight is 20/20. To be honest, I found it a little difficult to approach
you, since I was a nervous and am very shy.
Every night following the concert, I listened to your then, newly released
CD, and I promised myself if you ever returned to the vicinity or nearby,
I'd seek the opportunity to attend one of your concerts. In Dec. of 2003,
while strollling through a Christian bookstore, I saw an advertisement for
Frank Arnold's Celebration 2004. Naturally, I purchased tickets! Imagine
my thrill when I discovered in addition to you a whole slew of southern
gospel's greatest would be there.
Now let me rewind to the November concert. Remember I mentioned earlier
about my hesitation to approach you? What I'm about to relate is no way
earth-shattering or perhaps consequential to anyone other than myself, but
it's as real and true as the redemption of our sins through the blood of
Christ Jesus! One night as I prayed, that November concert returned to my
mind. At first, I merely thought my excitement over the upcoming concert
was causing me to reflect. Try as I might there was one image I could not
seem to shake, however. Allow me to explain.
I entered the lobby that night with every intention of speaking to
you, conveying how special your music was. However, my natural shyness and
the fact that you were engaged in a private conversation on your cell phone
dissuaded me. I also wanted to purchase the Trio's latest CD, which I did!
Not wanting to be rude or interrupt your conversation, I went directly to
the product table.
Except, kneeling and praying that night, I remembered a look of what appeared
to be sadness in your eyes, perhaps weariness from so much traveling. I
found words similiar to this flowing from my lips: "Dear Lord I don't know
why my mind keeps replaying this scene, and I don't know if the sadness I
perceived was just that... but I feel like Kirk is in great need of your
help. I don't know what obstacles he may be facing, but dear lord I pray
right now you'd prepare his heart..." My praying continued in like manner
for several more minutes.
Fast fowarding to Jan. 2004, I eagerly anticipated the concert. That
morning I showered, applied my make-up, slipped on my dress, and went to run
a few errands. Around noon, I returnned home glancing anxiously at the
clock, counting down the minutes. In that moment I felt compelled to pick
up a pen and write you a little word of encouragement as well as my praise
for your song "Lonely People."
I knew nothing about your recent predictament as I did not have access to
the Internet in my home, nor had I read any articles as I live in Palestine.
I put the envelope in my purse sure I'd get the chance to give it to you.(We
were on hiatus from school; I teach Language Arts in a local charter
school).
Imagine my disappointment when I discovered you weren't there. I
specualated as to the reason for you abscence: illness, an unexpected
emergency. I couldn't seem to quell my disappointment, but I vowed to keep
the letter and one day present it to you.
It was not until the morning of the 3rd that the announcement concerning the
letter you'd posted on your website reached our radio station. I realized
how prophetic then my letter had been and knew God had laid this on my
heart. My heart broke for you in your pain. I committed to 40 days of
prayer just as Jesus had done on the mount. Of course, I prayed more as
time went on that the walls of Sadam and Gommorhah would be set free and
Satan's deception would be revealed to you. Returning to school, I
contacted your website and discovered other had committted to do the same.
While saddened I felt encouraged that God's grace would sustain you. Over
the next two months I wrote you three additional letters. Someday I hope to
be able to deliver this to you somehow. In March, I fell away from the
writing as I grew increasingly busy with school, lesson plans, life in
general... but never my prayers. I have continued to this day and will
continue you. Keep your eyes focused on our Savior; you're an exceptional,
loving man. May you find peace and hapiness dear Kirk from the grace. With
much love and our father's blessings I sign off.
In His Perfect Love,
Happy Fenton, Palestine,Texas

I was reading the newest issue of the Singing News and saw an advertisement for a concert on March 19th in Birmingham Alabama. Someone had told me that you were going to be there but your name wasn't listed on the program. It listed GREATER VISION, LEGACY FIVE and "others" but did not include your name. Are you going to be there? If you aren't I probably won't go but if you are, then I will definitely be there!

battled with some issues that God truly is in us. He is not out there
somewhere - he is right inside of us. He made us " in his own image".
Thank you for being bold, brave and true to yourself to come forward. When

You have always been such a blessing to my husband and I; we have followed you for many years. Only God could give you the songs that you write and sing. I will tell you what my daddy, a minister, always told me - "God is in the restoration business!" Believe me Kirk, that is the truth and with my hand up. We've seen restoration in our family more than once and the relationship is much better than before. What He will do for me, He'll do for you. We have been praying and fasting for you since we first got your newsletter telling about the situation and have know that God alone would bring you deliverance. He has a real ministry for you and you trust Him; trust and NEVER doubt and He will surely bring you out! Don't worry about what others are saying or how they treat you. That is satan working through them and knowing that will help you to keep on loving them. It's NOT the person, but satan doing the dirty work. Actually they need to have their lights punched out and their tailgate kicked in; but I guess we need to let the Lord do it - right? Just a little humor............anyone that mistreats Kirk Talley needs to get their heart right with God. We each need to make sure our nose is clean before the Lord before we try to start wiping the nose of others. God bless you and keep you close dear friend! We love you in the Lord and will continue praying!

Thanks for your testimony. I was an active gay man for 8 years. All of my adult life. Never thinking that I could escape the binds of satan. I even attended a "gay church" in the area. Believe it or not, God led me to my soon to be bride at this "gay church" and has showed us both his tremendous love, grace and mercy. My words of advice to all out there are to do what you feel is right in your heart. Even though others told me not to go to the church, I did and God used it for HIS glory. He can do that in every situation.
Thank you for your testimony, your music and your service to our Lord! God Bless you Always.

CommentsDear Kirk,
I just visited your site for the first time, and I beleive God led me to find your testimony. First I would like to tell you what a blessing your song was to me 3 years ago when my mom went to be with the Lord. I think it was the very day after she died I happened to hear a song for the first time - "Serenaded by Angels" - and oh, it fit her story just perfect, especially the line "free from pain within". I cried so hard and thanked God for giving me that song. I called my brother and told him I wanted to play it at her memorial service. He found a CD with the song, and he said he listened to it on the way home and had to pull the car over for crying.
I just read about your struggle, and again am crying. Just one month ago, I discovered my 18 year old son was going to some pornographic sites on the internet. When my husband and I confronted him, he also confessed it was not ladies he was looking at. He is a Christian - a pretty strong one, and he said "I hate myself for having this attraction". He said "I am not gay, and I believe homosexuality is a sin, but still I have this attraction." He had said something once when he was about 14, but I thought maybe it was part of puberty, and I never brought up the subject again. Now we've done what we should have done long ago - put some security on the computer. In the last month I've asked him about it 2 or 3 times and he says, "I'm over it, mom - don't worry". I can't believe that, can I? I'm not sure where to turn for help. My husband is the pastor of our tiny church, and he hasn't said anything about it since that day. I would like to know how to get him to open up, or who we can turn to for help (I'm sure we can't afford a Christian counselor). Any ideas?
God bless you!

CommentsKirk,
Thank You for your transparency. You recently came to my church in Ohio. I knew of your dilema before your concert here, and honestly, I couldn't believe that our church would have you here to sing. But I decided I wouldn't say anything, I would attend and leave.
I liked your singing and your humor, but still wondered if you were going to share your testimony or not. When you started sharing it, I was so caught up in what you were saying, I couldn't move. I had no idea the extent of what you had been through. Not having dealt with your issue, it was hard to listen to, but on the other hand, I couldn't make myself look away. I watched as other people in our congregation cried and responded to what you were saying. I watched as the altar filled up at the end. The Holy Spirit began to speak to me about some attitudes and opinions that I had formed.
I have worked with a man that deals with your issue for years. Several years ago, I told him that I couldn't be his friend and I didn't want to have anything to do with him. After your testimony, I realized that I wasn't acting much like a Christian when I told him that. I went to work the next morning and apologized to him. He seemed as though he appreciated my apology. I plan to invite him to church with me.
Thank you for causing me to see the love of Christ in a new way. I am starting to re-think some of my decisions of the past.
I have no idea where your ministry will take you, but I know that you have personally made a difference in my life.
I will be praying for you daily, and I am now a bigger fan than ever before. You are a strong man!

CommentsKirk, When I got your last KirksKrew news letter I laughed right along with you. I wasn't expecting you to say the window was still up and I nearly choked on my tea. Ha Ha. This new look is great and I just finished reading your testimony. I just praise God that He is always with us and welcomes us with open arms when we call out to Him. You are a special person and I'm glad that you were able to climb up out of that dark valley to the mountain top of victory. Like you and many others, I've been in my own dark valley and standing up on that mountain with Jesus holding my hand is a feeling that can't be described, it has to be experienced. I pray that your testimony will be a help for many others. 2 Corinthians 1:2-7 God bless you Kirk...Jesus loves you and I do too.

CommentsKirk, you have a nice site. Also it takes courage to admit that you are dealing with this issue. What bothers me is that you feel that this is something that has to be fixed. I have experienced the praying, the ministries designed to deal with this issue as well. Everyone is different, and I believe that is because we are all meant to be different. I sincerely hope you find happiness. For me, I have accepted myself as a gay man. I wish you well.

CommentsKirk, Love the "New Look" for the Website...it looks great! I just wanted to say "Thanks" for posting your testimony on the web. I have been around Southern Gospel music all my life so I've seen you in concert several times. Each time I have been blessed by your humor, stories of the songs you've penned, and the presence of the Lord during your singing. I am amazed at how well you were able to hide your emotions through all these years. Not only from your struggle but from being dismissed from your own sister.I am a member of the "KirksKrew" newsletter so I have been kept up to date on everything while you were off the road. Thank you for continuing to inform those of us that were truly interested in your progress. I prayed for you many times in the last year and will continue to do so. You have came so far and I'm proud of you. Instead of staying in hiding (although I'm sure at first that's what you preferred) you have humbled yourself and used your testimony to help others. That's what the ministry is all about...helping others through our own personal testimony. I have not struggled with the same things you have so I won't be able to reach the people you are reaching...that's why God placed you where you're at today! His Mercy & Forgiveness is so Awesome!!!! May you Continue to grow daily in HIM and gain strength in your walk with Christ! Continue to be a blessing to others through the ministry God has called you into and your personal testimony. God Bless You, Kirk!

I love your new site. Kirk I have been praying for you the whole time you have been away. I emailed you and told you that I was. I am the little lady in the wheelchair who sees you in Sumter, SC all the time.
I am so glad you are coming to SC and close enough that I can come see you.
I knew when I heard about the way you were hurting that God would bring you through this. I know how it is to be judged because I am judged all the time cause of my chair but I couldn't judge you because I have loved you ever since I heard you sing the first time. No one can sing Seranaded By Angels like you can. No one can whistle like you either.
I am so glad you are back on the road and I look forward to seeing you in Lugoff, SC the end of the month.

You have been in our prayers since this episode began and am pleased to see the progress you are making. Shame on Singing News, but what would you expect from someone who won't put Gaither Vocal Band on the cover because of the hair. I notice from your schedule that you are in the Dallas Feb 10 & 11. We will be there on the 11th and 12th for the Gaither Concerts. I hope that you are a surprise guest there or is it just coincidence?

CommentsKirk, your new web site is "Geat". I am so glad your career is taking off again. you see when I first contactd you, I knew some of the trials you were facing. I have been there and done that, but when I came back to God, there was something still bothering me. It got so bad I went for professional help. The doctor listened intently to my story, then he made this observation, "you tell me of all your sins and that you are better then God." I was confused by what he said, asked what he was talking about. He smiled and said, "you say God has forgiven you of all your sins, yet, you haven't forgiven yourself, therefore you are telling me you are better then God". To this day I dn't know if he was a christian, but I know whenI left I was able to forgive myself and get on with my life. I am so proud of you and lift you up. Oh. I also wrote to "Singing News", about that little thing of not allowing you to advertise in ther publication. You don't need it, just stay in God's Will and great things are in store for you...Praying, Bro. Lloyd

CommentsDear Krik,
My name is Andy Lochary. I am the senior pastor at the Castleton Church of the Nazarene.
I just read your testimony and I wanted to let you know how sorry I am for all of the pain and rejection you have experienced. I am also sorry for the years of isolation. You have suffered a great injustice. I wanted you to know that I have a deep respect for you and I will pray for you as you continue to finding healing in Christ.
I am so grateful that His grace is sufficient, not only to cover our sin but to fully embrace us, to love us, to believe in us and to heal us.
I believe you in and I am proud to have you at our church.
In Christ,
Andy Lochary

CommentsKirk: I like your new website - very professional, but easy to read. I check your schedule all the time to see when you going to be near Atlanta, Georgia again. Hope it is soon. Your music and your perseverance are such an inspiration. Seems that no matter what I am going through, one of your songs just fits the situation. KEEP ON SINGING! God bless you. You are in my prayers.

CommentsI really enjoy getting "KirksKrew"! You've got a tremendous testimony & I'm glad I checked out your website when I heard rumors too. God's got GREAT plans for you! Your newletter is the greatest - so "down-to-earth", I can still see the meatballs & gravy..... or the ladies bathroom.... :) I laughed and cried both! Keep up the good work & I hopefully will be able to catch you sometime in Ohio's Amish country! God Bless! Diana

CommentsKirk,
Thanks for sharing your testimony with us. We haven't been able to see you in concert since you went back on the road, so it was good to be able to hear your story from you. We will pray for your sister. She must be miserable, being separated from her family, because she refuses to love unconditionally. You are in our prayers.

CommentsKirk,
I have been a fan for several years and will continue to be. My mom and I both get your newsletter and we ask each other, "Have you read the latest from Kirk Talley"?First of all I want to thank you for the joy you bring to my life each and every time I hear you sing, whether it is on a CD or a video clip.
I have been through many trials in my short 48 years, including losing my husband of only 2 years to lung/brain cancer. I have had to face a lot since this has happened including finding out who our true friends are. One thing that gets me through that may help you is that I keep telling myself and my mom that one day they will have to answer for their actions. It will not be on my time, but in God's time. I can look at myself in the mirror and smile each day, can they?
Each trial I face I lay at the foot of the Cross and try my best not to pick it up again, but that is so very hard to do isn't it.
I want to let you know that you are in my prayers each day and I am very proud of you.
I can't wait for you to be in my area so I can see you in person and thank you personally for the joy I receive from your music. I am also a hugger so be prepared, (lol).
Continue your journey with faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and remember, those that can't or won't forgive you or pray for you will have to answer for their actions one day.
Keep smiling and remember, if you are ever in Canada and have a cold, don't tell them you have the crud! LOL remember that one!
Love in Christ
Pam

CommentsI found kirk Talley years ago when I was really hurting from a marriage going bad. Also I lost a dear friend and there was Serenaded by Angels to play at her funeral. I have been to see him sing a few times and I could feel the Lord there! I have issues in my life that I struggle with and need prayer for. I will not judge you Kirk. I pray for you and I know that our dear Lord is with you. When you get near Columbus Ohio I sure will come to see you! I love you in the Lord and know that you were sent by him to minister to us hurting souls! Keep looking up! Those who call you names and won't forgive you have forgotten that our Bible says judge not lest you be judged and those who won't forgive others will not be forgiven. I am a 51 yr old lady going through a separation after a 33 yr marriage. Please remember me in your prayers as I do you. Thank you so much!

CommentsHowdy Kirk!!!
We have been in touch before. First, I wanted to say Thank You for the info you sent me about NONI Juice. I have not tried it yet but I am considering it to help me with my rather new diabetic condition. Also, Thank you for the wonderful new testimony page on the new website. It is very humble & sincere & I really appreciated it. I pray for you everyday I promise & I look forward to meeting you (I ran into you once @ PTL, but not to talk to) & actually sitting in one of your concerts one day. Thanks for Serranded By Angles (you really should sell a Sympathy card that has that on it). I am glad you are back to singing. I guess you knew that Janet Paschals website has announced she has cancer but God is a GOD OF MIRACLES. Hope to see you soon again on Dean & Mary on TBN (have tried to email then to tell them how much I enjoy seeing you on it but every message bounces back). Also, hope to see you with the Gaihters again someday. God Bless & Happy Trails. Keep Trusting Jesus & Remember He is fighting for you.

CommentsKirk,We've met on many occassions, and each time,I'm totally mesmerized by how the LORD truly works through you.
Many years ago,my husband and I were on a weekend trip to W.Va.While waiting for my husband to get ready to go to the bar at the hotel one night,I (finally)had the opportunity to use the remote, flipping channels.(It was FUN too)
I happened to stop when I heard this beautiful singing. There you were on The Cathedral's Reunion video.I'll never forget the day, moment or song. "I Know A Man who Can".To make a long story short...WE NEVER made it to the bar!! I've been serving the Lord ever since that night and so has my husband.Ive recorded two CD's (you have one, through Jeff Gibson) and my husband preaches often at different locations, mostly where I sing. He,along with your friend Tony Greene played a joke on you at Myrtle Beach afew years ago.Impersonating an officer with your badge!!Remember now.We also first met you with friends from Greensboro,N.C.
Now that I hopefully have jogged your memory I have to tell you what your ministry has truly meant to my life.I sing many of your songs.recorded two of them, because of how they have not only ministered to me but the thousands of other souls.NO ONE,not one,can ever convince me that the Lord Himself has not used you in every way to do His work.No one is without blemish. If so,why did HE die for us?Did He only witness and preach to "GOOD"?He hung out with filth and lost. Are we not to do the same?
Infact,I believe I've always gotten the most from someone who has walked in MY shoes and really understands my testimony.I thank my Lord everyday that my sin is no greater than any other.Sometimes.it's hard for "us Christians" to remember that when we judge others.I have loved you for many years as my brother IN CHRIST,and I'll not turn my back on you now!!!I think the LORD will use you in ways you've never imagined. He already has.You couldn't write the first song without His annointing. Not the ones you've touched lives with...Thank you for touching mine. One more quick thing I want to share. My precious mother passed away April 6,2004.This has been the hardest thing I've ever had to face in my life. However, your songs have ministered to me as never before and just this past Sunday in my own home church,I was able to minister to others with "Serenaded By Angels".The HOLY SPIRIT took over!Thank you again..I NOW know the true meaning of that song.I give the LORD all the praise and glory....Lots of love and prayers,Myra Massaroni

"If only we could see beyond
the masks of fear we all put on
and allow someone to truly touch
the hidden part, that we call "us"
Without regret, fear, or shame
to leave behind more than a name
the love that lives within us all
can break down fear, the inner wall!"

CommentsHi Kirk:
Love the new site.........thank you for sharing your full testimony on your struggles. My mom passed away in Jan. 2004, and already being devastated at losing her, I heard about your extortion & you going off the road, saddened me even more. My husband & I have loved your music since being saved. We heard lots of rumors, and I was glad to read your account of what your struggle really was, and how you have overcome it through much prayer & help from God's people. I continuously check your schedule hoping you will be in NC some day so we can come see you again. We always enjoyed your concerts. thank you for writing "Serenaded By Angels", it means so much more to me now that my mom is in heaven. May God continue to bless you. Keep on keepin on!

CommentsKirk,
I've had some contact with you a month or so ago, just wanted to say that you're a genuine person.
A person with struggles, and the will to overcome them.
The power to overcome them comes from God we all know that.
You're one of my all time favorite singers, and funny it may sound, my appreciation for you has grown, since I heard about your difficulties with love/life etc.
You handle your stuff with dignity, and grace.
Ok brother love ya!

CommentsHey Kirk!! I love the new website!!! It really looks good.
I never knew what you have been thru until today. I am so sorry to hear how you have been treated by others. When my husband went thru counseling last year due to the loss of his mom he too was made an outcast. That is nothing compared to what you have been thru but it just goes to show how ignorant some people can be about the struggles and difficulties in a person's life. We continue to pray for you. You have faced this battle for a reason. Deut. 29:29 says that "there are things the Lord our God has kept secret, but there are some things he has let us know. These things belong to us and our children forever so we will do everything in these teachings." Even though it's unclear now and maybe unclear for the rest of your earthly life why you've had to fight this battle one day you will know and understand! Just keep on keepin' on and remember that Satan has no power over you......None! And with the help of the Lord you will continue to over come and grow to be stronger than you ever thought you'd be. I admire you more now than I ever have. It takes alot of courage and strength not to give up and to fight and get to the point to where you CAN tell people where you've been and what God has pulled you from. You are his and you are in his hands. And like I've told you before...NOTHING has ever fallen out of God's hands.
Love you and Praying for you always!!!!

CommentsKirk, I know it's only been just over a year since you shared with me that morning what had happened. It was a very dismal post Christmas Monday morning for me, because I had just read about Vestal Goodman passing on and then your news. I went into my own depression for several weeks after because of these two devestating events had occurred so close together to two of my gospel music hero's. But I have always known in my heart because of the good news in your music, that God would win the battle. In those first few weeks as I read, I understood your pain more and why you had befriended me online. I've told you this before, but it's worth repeating, I will always have the utmost respect for you, your music and your honesty. I've said it before but it's a privilege to be able to call you friend, even though we're really more just acquaintances. I believe in my heart that God will continue using you, your testimony, honesty and music to draw all of us closer to his heart and will. Your definitely not finished, but have only just begun friend. Mom says hi too. Read through some of the other comments here, and the new website is just fine in my opinion. Making something new, or fresh, is similar to what God does in us day by day. May God continue to bless you, and keep you singing, testifying and lifting hearts upward. Again, thanks so much for sharing your music and life experience with many of us common folk.

You are such an inspiration, the songs you write could only be written by a child of God. Keep your head up and keep in God's will and God will see you through. Our God is a loving and forgiving God. Just claim Romans 8:28. God Bless you as you continue in His will.

CommentsKirk, You have greatly inspired me. I also fought same sex attraction. HOwever, I got set free in my church here in Berea, Ky. It is called Church on the Rock. I now sing in their choir. I just recently married a wonderful lady that I met in the choir there. We got married December 11th.
Kirk I am also living proof that there is hope. It doesn't matter how far down the wrong road that you have gone, it doesn't matter what you have done. It doesn't matter who you are, where've you've been, nor the sin, nor how you fail somewhere along this life's road, THERE IS HOPE AND HEALING FOR YOU!!!!
I am so proud of you Kirk. I grew up listening to you. I remember you when you sang with the Talley's. I own a cd of the Talley's when you dang with them form the Southern Gospel Treasury. I have right many of your cd's.
Kirk, whenever you feel down and out, hey just look at the songs you have written. Their lyrics can mend a broken heart and lift someone up who is down. YOUR OWN WORDS CAN DO THAT. Who know if the reaosn why you penned those songs was for you! If they were for you and only you, then they weren't in vain.
Kirk, I love you, and if you ever need a friend I am here for you.
I am recording my first solo project. Kirk was there to pick me up despite what all he was going through to encourage me to hang on, don't give up. I was worried about what people would think about my voice. I have a high pitched voice. I can even hit soporano notes. I was going to stop working on my solo project and let someone else sing the songs I have written. Kirk opened my eyes to reality. Thanks you Kirk for obeying the Lord. I shall never ever forget you. My album is oging to be diedicated to several people an Mr. Kirk Talley is one of them. Who knows, we may sing on stage together sometime.
God Bless You All!!!
You NEver fail until you stop trying!!!

I was a fan of yours long before the information about your struggles came to public knowledge. Absolutely nothing has changed, my respect for you and your music talents has increased. And I am glad to see you out and in the ministry again. May God bless you in everything you attempt to do. Kirk, I will never forget your kindness to my mother one night after a concert at Dollywood. She loves your music and wanted to meet you. Your kiss on the cheeks was a gesture she still talks about. She is 93 years old on Feb 5th. If you find the time, I would love to take a Birthday wish to her on the 5th from you. Just send me an email and I will deliver the message.

CommentsKirk,
I have been a fan of yours since my wife and I started following Southern Gospel music. Your songs have always been blessings to me. I believe that I am one of the fortunate people who have only gone through very shallow valleys. There are times though that I feel that my faith is weak and I begin to wander. Then I start thinking about you and Roger Bennett and the very deep valleys that you have gone through and realize that I have no reason to doubt the Lord. But I guess it is like Rodneny wrote "Without as valley how will I ever know that His strong and gentle hand will never let me go." I hope that I never have to go through a valley as deep as yours, but if I do your your example will certainly help me stay on the narrow path. By the way I told my wife that there is one song that has to be played at my funeral - "Leave Me A Message."
I have also been praying for you for the past year and will continue to do so until your committee gives some indication that is it no longer needed.
Peace Be With You

CommentsDear Kirk, I loved you before I knew of your struggle, and I love you now, probably even more. I admire you so much for your courage to stand up and reach out to people. May God Bless You. I think that your ministry will serve to help many people who are also struggling. It would have been so easy for you to just give in and 'go with the flow' but you stood tall and I really appreciate you for that. It takes a big man to do what you have done. Obviously God was with you all the way, because you could not have done what you have done on your own strength.
Love you,

We've seen you in concert 8 out of the 10 years you were at Cornerstone Baptist in Paris (Illinois, that is! LOL). We miss you so much and can't wait for you to come back to this area again. Your testimony online is very good but I'm sure it's even better in person. You are truly an inspiration. It took guts to do what you did, and I can't wait to see what God will do through you next!

CommentsKirk, You have truly been a blessing to me in my times of need over the years. I believe God will continue to use you greatly. You have been in my prayers and as we all know, God does answer prayer. We must remember that all sins are equal in the eyes of the Lord and that there is only 1 unforgiveable sin (Matt 12:31,32). We must all pray for each other. After reading your testimony I feel strongly that we should remember to pray for your sister, and others like her. I will continue to pray for you and your ministry and ask you to pray for me also.
In Sisterly Love,
Pj

CommentsKirk- You have been in our prayers many times this past year. I viewed your new website this morning along with your testimony. Although I was aware of your struggle I NEVER thought of the pain you may have been going through with your sister. I CAN NOT imagine how much more painful that can be. My family has a member that is attracted to the same sex. Even though it is not how God wants them to live nor how we would like for them to live (I have only seen the pain it causes them) I love my family member and remain close to them.
I will now be lifting up your sister, Diane, in prayer. I think you may be covered pretty well for awhile...
Keep singing for the Lord.
It looks like you are in high demand in Central Texas. Will be looking for you to come this way soon.
In His GREAT love....

CommentsFirst I must say. I LOVE YOU! We all face our own individual struggles. As far as I know, other than God, no one is perfect. I am proud of you, for sharing your struggles. Most of all I am glad that instead of falling deep into your problem, you allowed Godly people to help you. I pray that the people around you, family, friends, and people in your industry, are offering prayer, help, and love and not rejection. I pray that every Christian who comes in contact with you displays a God like Love and Understanding.. WHere would we all be Kirk, had Jesus not died on the cross for our sin? How would we feel if God would foresake us, as we do him. I have always wanted to meet you, to talk to you. I have always loved your music and enjoyed your infectious personality. You have so much to offer people. Just Let go and let God

CommentsAnyone who can write songs in the first place gets a big A+ in my book. And when those songs are as diverse as "Step Into the Water" and "Serenaded By Angels" are, that person has not only talent but a "magic touch" that knows how to get the message of salvation across. I've seen you with the Gaithers on a few occasions, and am eagerly looking forward to hearing just YOU. I have a feeling that means I will be driving a goodly distance, if necessary, to catch one of your concerts the next time you're within 200-300 miles of my Central Texas home. I am so excited to see how God is using you. I've been a KT fan ever since I was little, and always will be. You now have a powerful testimony and it will truly be an inspiration to people who hear it. You will continue to stay in my daily prayers. I know God will continue to bless you!

CommentsGreat Testimony Kirk--All of God's creation is precious and special--because He created You and I to be who and what we are...bless you for who you truly are! May you be free in the Lord who loves us all and not a slave to the miss judgements of human beings who love God but are not God. He loves you just the way you are! God bless you.

CommentsI respect someone who can truthfully confess like you have Kirk. I know it is difficult but the truth will purge the soul. Just Sunday our preacher preached on forgiveness and how the Lord only forgets one thing, and that is the sins we confess. People remember but the Lord doesn't. Kirk, hold your head up because your are a chosen one of His and if He forgives than who are we to remember. God Bless and I believe the Lord is going to change the direction of your ministry. Stay accountable to the ones you trust but most of all be accountable to Him. I will continue to pray for you and your ministry.

CommentsKirk, my friend...what a great new website! I am absolutely thrilled to be able to hear about what God is doing in your life and in the ministry He has entrusted you with. I am so excited about you being back out there on the road, sharing with others about your own brokeness, your struggle, your hurt and the healing that you are striving to embrace and walk in. I am always amazed at how through our own struggles in life, God does continue to use that to touch those that we are able to be honest with and share that part of our life and journey with. I am so proud of you and I stand alongside of you as we walk this path together. I cannot wait to hear the good reports of the many lives that will be changed as you share your testimony and open your heart to the hurting. I am honored to have you as my friend for the last 18 years...and I am here for you if you need anything. Blessings to you and yours!

CommentsAll down through the years it is obvious that God has trusted Kirk with talent, gifts and the gospel. God will continue to bless Kirk by instilling in him the desire to reflect the image and glory of God that has been in Kirk since before the foundation of the world is my prayer.

CommentsKirk, I have been praying for you a long time and feel that God is using this situation in your life for the healing of many others like you, who want to stand and fight satans evil tricks and schemes. I have a beautiful, tall blond granddaughter who has decided that she is gay and has moved to Austin with her "friend". She has cut her hair into a butch cut and wears boy clothes. How should I treat her? My heart is broken. I still love her so much. She's my oldest granddaughter. Please answer if you can. God bless you, Pat

CommentsI had the opportunity to visit and hear Kirk at his home church and his home pastor. It was a really great weekend, and what a wonderful outpouring of the Holy Spirit. I know that God is opening so many new doors of ministry for Kirk, and what a blessing he will be to many people who sometimes are forgotten along the way. Kirk, always follow God's lead and you will do great things. And I really like the new website.

CommentsGreat new website! Much better than the old site. I believe 2005 is going to be a banner year for you. Your message is reaching out and touching the hearts of those outside of southern gospel music, grace and forgiveness are universal. My friend, you have many heavenly gifts, your voice is but one.

A few weeks ago I heard a song called "He is mine and I am his" on the radio at work and my boss thought I was going to start shouting right in the office of a public high school! I emailed my son and found out who TRIO is and how to get their album. Of course I have seen all three of you with Gold City, The Gaithers and the Talley Trio. but this song was meant for me to hear at that date and time. and then I hear on the internet about your special needs right now. I have been praying for you all along, and now I am doubling my prayer time for you. Just remember the name of that song, he is yours and you are his. So nothing is too big or terrible that He can't fix it. Stay strong, keep your hand in his and all will be well.

CommentsWe want to thank Kirk for letting us be a small part of his life in 2004. We kept him in our thoughts and prayers daily throughout the year, and continue to do that in this New Year. We traveled to Tennessee twice in 2004 to see and hear Kirk. We were so blessed as we heard that heart-wrenching testimony. Then as we heard him sing his songs, there was new meaning in each song for us and for Kirk. That grace that he sang about before is the same grace that allows our sins to be forgiven and is allowing Kirk's sins to be forgiven. As Kirk's song (my favorite) says, "There's no other word for grace but amazing." It truly is amazing! We must not forget that in order to be forgiven, we must forgive (Mark 11:26). We were very proud to present Kirk in an evening of testimony and gospel music last November here in East Texas. We will proudly do this again in September. May God continue to bless Kirk in his new ministry. God has great and mighty things in store for him. We love you, Kirk, and all that you stand for.

I just want you to know Kirk, that I've been praying for you, and will continue to. -Kelly, Chelsea MI

CommentsKirk has always been one of my favorites in gospel music. I have prayed for him. When he sings its truly heartfelt. You can feel the passion and compassion in his voice. Years ago I went through a horrible struggle with my ex-husband and the past that I had. The song that I kept playing over and over that ministered to me and still does is "You can get past your past. You walk away from painful memories....You can stand upon the word of God" as the song goes. The story he even told with the song was very powerful!! Please tell Kirk "thank you" for being an open book to minister to those feel like no can help them or understand their struggle. So many times we feel like our ministers are "untouchable" because they haven't exprienced worldly things but thank God there are those like Kirk who are willing t expose their weaknesses to help others. Thank you and God Bless you!! Keep singing! My life has been enriched by Kirk's music and ministry!!!!! I am even more blessed by his testimony!!! Thanks for allowing the Lord to use you!! |
